A geospatial network management system designed for the communications industry

Is the most comprehensive geospatial solution for the design and management of both inside and outside physical network Key Functions Single Network View Work Order Management Extensive Data Model Provides tools to create, document and manage an end-to-end model of the network elements Sophisticated project management is accomplished for each project from planning to build-out. Tasks, materials, resources, duration and cost Is the foundation for the flexibility and functionality of the system. Business rules, objects and reference data enables you to model your business processes
The Window to your Communications Network Data and Intelligent Network Diagrams Analyst Schem atic Assistant Provides a quick view of the Network Engineer data that is beneficial to stakeholders for decision-analysis work order approval, reporting and data sharing Works with ESRI ArcSchematic to generate schematic views of the network upon demand offering high level diagrams; low level diagrams; splice closure diagrams and duct occupancy diagrams
Network Engineer Business Process Bill of Materials Report Engineering Work Order As-built updates Network Engineer Network Planning Common Data Model Common (ESRI) GIS Service Assurance Inventory Manager Network Data Service Provisioning & Service Activation

Cabling installations require reading electrical or fiber schematics (logical diagrams). These physical representations of the cabling are often difficult to interpret. Providers must continually ask: Where are cable runs now? Where are the connections? Where are all the associated references? Design engineering and project management is complex complicated by budget constraints and time sens itivities. Project engineers spend substantial amounts of time doing records research - requiring engineers to manually sift through reams of information - often outdated or incorrect.
A Geospatial Network Management System Provides answers to the following questions Where are my Facilities Customers Properties Faults Alarms Signal Strengths Available Capacities And How Are They Related?
A Geospatial Network Management System Enables the efficient allocation of people and resources Project managers adhere to budget constraints through the management of their OSP assets Managers can schedule manpower, generate status reports, and assemble business intelligence Engineers work more effectively Engineers can see the best options for running cable in terms of available buildings and routes - along with exact locations of outside plant terminals
Different ways to view/analyze data Tabular View Map View Schematic View Rack View Cross Section View Floor Plan View
Physical Network Management Outside plant assets (physical network inventory) can include: devices, tracks, ducts, pipes/bores, cables, coil/over-lengths, manholes, fiber, splices, distribution frames, poles and other aerial and underground items as well as connectivity and topology information
Outside Plant Management Complete Outside Plant management tools for creating, placing, and editing network spans, structures, transmedia, and equipment. All network elements and network-related structures are available for visualization, analysis, reporting, bill-ofmaterials generation, and map and map book pr oduction.
Inside Plant Management Use the ISP management feature to document and associate inventory with a network structure - such as a central office, an equipment vault, or a cabinet
!!" Complete editing functions are provided to manage netw ork connectivity Port le vel connectivity mana gement Interc onnection of e quipme nt-toequipme nt Connection of equipment to cable Connection of cable to splice closure Connections Editor Equipment-to-Equipment The connection is common between all views of the data.
! Circuit documentation provides detailed views of the interconnected cables and equipment comprising various network switch-to-switch circuits

This detailed schematic shows the port level connections supporting the metropolitan ring. The ring is highlighted on the map canvas in red, with the landbase layers turned off for easy viewing.
This Splice Schematic reflects the four fiber cables spliced at this point. Strand connections are currently un-grouped, however, for detailed splices, the strands can be grouped for easier viewing as shown on the following slide.
