2 Enterprise is one of the current print buzz-words. There is no defined standard for what elements are included. Everybody claim they have it (or Rules ). The differences between the systems are enormous. In the following slides, Print Associates will outline the elements we have found important when designing Enterprise.

Use to direct/force sensitive documents To a printer in a secure area, A key-locked Output Bin, or To Pull Print and user release at the device. Encrypt the data stream from workstation to print server. Encrypt the data stream from print server to printer. Track all printing.

7 Reduce Network Load when Enterprise Network utilization Document Security Savings & Accounting High Availability A document grows in size as it gets closer to the printer A PDF can grow with a magnitude of 40 times during final formatting Print can be responsible for half of all network traffic. Compress the data stream from workstation to print server. Compress the data stream from print server to printer. ACK delay can increase network load and slow print down.

Find the Closest Printer. Avoid pop-ups and manual input as much as possible. Let the document wait for the user, and not the opposite. Manage access to expensive resources (color), don t block. Easy printing for Guests and Roving Users. Useful feedback and print history. Correct print in the first attempt, with only a click on the mouse.
