All participating clubs will be notified of any changes to the program. Coaches will be notified prior to the meet of any changes to the specifications of this meet package, unless such changes can be dealt with at the commencement of the meet without disadvantage to the swimmer. Eligibility: Open to all swimmers registered as Competitive Swimmers with Swimming Canada (SNC) or FINA affiliates. PARA swimmers who are registered with a FINA or IPC affiliate are eligible to compete and will be seeded according to their entry time. Age Group placement will be determined by using the age of the swimmer on January 16, Competition: Current SNC rules will govern the competition unless otherwise specified in this meet package. Current Swimming Canada Competition Warm-up Safety Procedures will be in effect. Males and females will compete separately. All events will be swum as timed finals. All events will be pre-seeded according to entry times and will be swum slowest to fastest.

3 Competition: The meet management MAY limit the entries in the 200 Freestyle and/or the 200 Individual Medley to a specific number of heats in order to meet swim meet timelines. In these events, the Saskatchewan AA time standard will be used as a de qualifying time standard, and coaches/teams will be notified prior to the start of the meet to allow for event substitutions. Heats may be combined as necessary. The FINA Start shall be used for all events as per SNC rule SW 4. Except for Backstroke events, swimmers will remain in the water at the completion of their swim to allow the next heat to get under way. Swimmers will stay to the side of their respective lane against the lane rope. Relays: Relay events will be swum as mixed gender in the following age categories: 10& Under, 11 & 12, 13 & 14 and 15& Over Relay teams can be comprised of any combination of genders. **Each swimmer is only allowed to swim a maximum of two relays over the course of the competition** Relay name changes shall be accepted each day up to 30 minutes before the start of the session as per SNC rule Scratches: Scratches from heats simply create empty lanes, as there shall be no re-seeding. Scratches from heats may be made at any time without penalty except for loss of entry fee. Clubs are requested to report any scratches no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of that day s events. Coaches are encouraged to provide scratches to the Clerk of Course as soon as possible so that the Clerk may try to accommodate the deck entry of swimmers. Protests: As per SNC Rule CGR and Coaches Meeting: Entries: Coaches meeting will occur on Saturday, January 16 at 11:15am. Each swimmer will be limited to a maximum of six (6) individual events. Maximum swims in any one day is four (4) individual events. All entries to be submitted via the Swim Canada entries site. All entry times must be in short course metres. Converted times will be accepted. No time (NT) entries will be accepted and seeded accordingly. SNC registration numbers MUST be submitted for each swimmer. Classification numbers for Para swimmers must accompany entries Meet Management will not be responsible for obtaining missing registration numbers. Entries submitted without a registration number will not be accepted. Swim Meet Limits The meet is limited to 170 swimmers registered with Swimming Canada. Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-entered basis. When the meet reaches 169 entered swimmers, the next team in its entirety will be accepted.

4 Entry Fees: Individual Events: $55.00/Swimmer Relay Events: $10.00/Event. Cheque made payable to the Battlefords Kinsmen Swim Club. Entry fees must be received prior to warm up on January 16, Deck Entries: Deck entries will be allowed at the discretion of the Meet Manager and the Clerk of Course. Deck entries must be submitted to the Clerk of Course no later than 45 minutes prior to the start of the session in which the event is to be swum. Deck entries will require a payment of $11.00/individual swim and $21.00/relay. Payment will be required prior to entry into the event. Deck entries will be classified as exhibition swims as per SNC rule CSW Entry Deadline: Entries to be received by 11:59 pm Wednesday, January 6, Entry Fees must be paid prior to the start of Saturday s warm-ups, and can be delivered in person to the Meet Manager. Awards: Results: Medals will be awarded for first, second and third place in individual events only. Ribbons will be awarded for fourth to eighth place, and first to third only for relay events. Results will be posted on the Swim Canada web site. Female results will be reported in the 10 & Under, 11 & 12, 13 & 14, and 15 & Over Male results will be reported in the 11 & Under, 12 & 13, 14 & 15, and 16 & Over Meet Safety Rules Current Swimming Canada Competition Warm-up Safety Procedures will be in effect. Safety Marshalls will be stationed around the pool deck during general warm-up. Entry into the pool must be feet-first at all times during general warm-up. Lanes 1 and 6 will be designated as sprint lanes during the last 15 minutes of warm-up. Dive entry is permitted in Lanes 1 and 6 during this time with one-way swimming only allowed. Running on deck is NOT permitted. No fins or hand paddles may be used during warm-up. No deck changing is allowed - swimmers must use the change rooms. It is the coach s responsibility to inform the swimmers and ensure their discipline and adherence to the Meet Safety Rules.

6 SWIMMING CANADA COMPETITION WARM-UP SAFETY PROCEDURES November 25, 2014 Meet Management for all sanctioned Canadian swimming competition must ensure the following safety procedures are applied. It is incumbent on coaches, swimmers, and officials to comply with these procedures during all scheduled warm-up periods. Coaches are requested to encourage swimmers to cooperate with Safety Marshals. GENERAL WARM-UP: Swimmers must enter the water FEET FIRST in a cautious manner, entering from a start or turn end only and from a standing or sitting position. Running on the pool deck and running entries into the pool tank are prohibited. Meet Management may designate the use of sprint or pace lanes during the scheduled warm-up time. Any such lane usage must be communicated either in pre-competition handout, announcement or deck signage. Diving starts shall be permitted only in designated sprint lanes. Only one-way swimming from the start end of sprint lanes is permitted. Notices or barriers must be placed on starting blocks to indicate no diving during warm-up. EQUIPMENT: Kick Boards, Pull-Buoys, Ankle Bands, and Snorkels are permitted for use in the scheduled warm-up time. Meet Management may permit use of tubing or cord assisted sprinting in designated lanes and during specific times of the warm-up only. Coaches are responsible for equipment reliability and use. Hand paddles, drag chutes, and flippers / fins are not permitted during any warm-up at any time. VIOLATIONS: Swimmers witnessed by a Safety Marshal diving or entering the water in a dangerous fashion will be removed without warning from their first event following the warm-up period in which the violation occurred. In the case of a second offense during the same competition the swimmer will be removed from the competition in its entirety. A provincial disciplinary action or report may be filed. SAFETY MARSHALS: The Safety Marshal is a trained position designated by Meet Management. Safety Marshals shall: Be visible by safety vest Be situated at each end of the competition tank and when applicable, similarly situated in designated warm-up tanks when pre-competition warm-ups are scheduled. Actively monitor all scheduled warm-up periods. Ensure participants comply with warm-up safety procedures and report violations to the Referee. PARA-SWIMMER NOTIFICATION: Coaches are requested to notify Safety Marshals of any Para-swimmers participating in warm-ups where necessary and at the coach s discretion. The following statement must appear in all Swimming Canada sanctioned meet information and posted notices: SWIMMING CANADA WARM-UP COMPETITION SAFETY PROCEDURES WILL BE IN EFFECT AT THIS MEET.
