I taught a weekly workshop on the economic principles and tools used in the economics of education, held office hours, and graded problem sets. Applied Research Methods in International Comparative Education ( ). I assisted more than 20 Master s degree students to write research monographs over the course of the school year. I assisted them in formulating research topics, writing literature reviews and conceptual frameworks, data analysis and interpretation. I facilitated a weekly class in summer 2006 in which students shared and critiqued their final papers. Resource Allocation in Education (Spring ). This class required students to write research papers using education production functions and costeffectiveness analysis. I assisted students to understand and prepare NELS data, use Stata, construct econometric models, analyze results, etc. Other Professional History (in China and the US) Peking University, China Institute for Educational Finance Research, Beijing, China (Nov present) Assistant Professor Conduct policy-relevant research on issues related to the Chinese education system. Research focuses on higher education, upper secondary education (general and vocational), health (disability), junior high school education, rural education, migrant education, early childhood education. Special focus on issues of education and social inequality for various disadvantaged groups including rural, poor, female, minority students and people with disabilities. Design and execute randomized experiments and quasi-experiments, design and coordinate large surveys, utilize nonparametric and semiparametric statistical methods to write descriptive studies, policy impact evaluation papers, and policy briefs for China s MOE and MOF. Interact with fellow researchers in China, government officials from the Ministries of Education and Finance, local (provincial and county) officials, school leaders, foundations and NGOs, teachers, and students in a Chinesespeaking environment.
