Established in 1966, LAWASIA comprises over forty member oranisations and has individual members from more than fif ty countries world-wide. Its mission is to promote universally hih standards of leal practice and continuin leal education, to be a voice of the leal community of the reion, to uphold the rule of law and to protect human rihts across the diverse rane of political, cultural, social and economic contexts of the Asia Pacific reion. About the conference The LAWASIA Risk Manaement & PII Conference is desined to equip deleates with insiht and knowlede into complex and multi-dimensional issues arisin from risk manaement for leal professionals. It will examine current aspects of the inter-relationships between risk manaement and the professional indemnity insurance schemes that are in place to protect lawyers and their law firms. The proram will of fer examinations of the relationship between professional reulation and insurance, best practice, cross border operatin risks, the impact of lobal economic ef fects and of chanes wrouht by a rowin internationalisation of leal practice, amon other areas. This internationally-focused conference, now in its fourth biennial reprise, provides a unique opportunity to consider the evolvin frontiers of risk manaement and PII. It will of fer an informative forum for discussion that is current and hihly relevant to all leal practices, leal professional associations, those with a specific practice in PII and the insurance industry, alike. Should a letter of invitation be required, please advise the secretariat by lawasia@lawasia.asn. au or phone: Letters to assist visa applications will not be issued until full reistration and payment is received and processed by the LAWASIA secretariat. Hotels Deleates should make their own accommodation reservations directly with hotels. The LAWASIA secretariat rerets that it is unable to accept hotel reservations. Details of suested hotels are available on the conference website. Deleates are advised to make reservations as early as possible. Insurance Participants, accompanyin persons and uests are advised to af fect their own insurance to cover all risks includin (but not limited to) costs of travel, accommodation, conference reistration, injury/death, health and medical expenses, personal property and all other risks. LAWASIA and the conference will not be held liable for claims under any circumstances. This includes participation in any pre & post tourin and activities undertaken by deleates and accompanyin persons. Cancellation All cancellations must be notified to the LAWASIA secretariat in writin by , fax or mail. Where a refund of reistration fees is souht due to non-attendance, this will be considered on notification to the LAWASIA secretariat by , fax or mail. Refunds, less a $100 administration fee, will only be considered af ter the conference has been concluded and where extenuatin circumstances exist. No refunds will be issued on site. Where a reistered deleate is unable to attend, a replacement deleate may be nominated without chare up to 10 July 2015 on advice to the LAWASIA secretariat in writin by , fax or mail. Af ter this date, a fee of AU$20 will apply for any transfer of reistration to another deleate. Refund of accommodation and tour deposits and/ or prepayment is at the discretion of the hotel/operatin company. Force majeure Neither LAWASIA nor the conference shall be liable for delay or failure to oranise the conference if such delay is due to fire, typhoon, cyclone, earthquake, flood, strike, labour dispute, war, overnment order, riot, revolution, pandemic or any other cause beyond their reasonable control. Reistration entitlements Reistration can be completed online at and by mail or fax copy reistration forms. Reistration should be considered finalised when you receive receipt of payment and confirmation in writin. Full conference member/non member reistration fee includes all conference materials, attendance at sessions, lunch and mornin/af ternoon teas accordin to the proram. Social function access for non-deleates Access to social functions is available for an additional fee for accompanyin persons. We reret that tickets will not be available for purchase on site. Additional costs All other costs includin but not limited to accommodation, airfares, visa fees, transportation and meals except those included under reistration entitlements shall be borne by the participant (includin speakers).
