As Athletic Director, Stephenson manages the operation of the Bobcat Athletic Department consisting of Men s and Women s Basketball, Men s Golf, Women s Volleyball and Cheerleading. With over 500 career victories and 27 years of coaching basketball on the collegiate and high school levels, Stephenson continues to serve as Head Coach of Georgia Northwestern s Men s and Women s Basketball programs. This is Stephenson s 10th year with the program. Stephenson holds a Master s Degree in Athletic Administration and a Bachelor s Degree in History. He has served as commissioner and athletic director of programs on all amateur levels. Character, Education & Athletic Development The Mission of the GNTC Athletic Department is to help promote the classes and programs of Georgia Northwestern Technical College through an athletic format, while also providing a more overall collegiate atmosphere in order to further help in the recruitment, retention and success of all students.

3 NJCAA Lady Bobcats volleyball Coaching Staff Lady carrie hawkins-powell Head Women s Volleyball Coach caitlyn clifford Assistant Head Women s Volleyball Coach Carrie Hawkins-Powell is the Head Coach of Georgia Northwestern s NJCAA Women s Volleyball program. The college debuted intercollegiate volleyball in Powell was a 6-foot, front line specialist on the college s very first team. NJCAA Bobcats Golf Coaching Staff jared willerson Head Men s Golf Coach Drew Tankersley Men s Graduate Golf Coach Jared Willerson is in his third year as Head Coach of Georgia Northwestern s NJCAA Golf program. The Chickamauga, Georgia native led his prep squad at Gordon Lee High School in Chickamauga, Georgia to five consecutive region crowns in In 2008, the Lady Trojans won the state title and Willerson took home Coach of the Year honors for his efforts. As an assistant coach for the boys team, he helped coach that squad to a team state title in Willerson attended Cleveland State C.C. in Cleveland, Tennessee, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. He holds a Master s in Education and a Bachelor s in Finance and Economics. Bobcats Cheerleading Coaching Staff karen stoker Head Cheerleading Coach kristi thomas Cheerleading Assistant Coach LaFayette, Georgia native Karen Stoker is the Head Coach of Georgia Northwestern s Cheerleading program, which serves as the cheer representative for Georgia Northwestern s Men s and Women s Intercollegiate Basketball programs. Stoker also trains her squads for competitive cheer competitions throughout the region. Stoker holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Jacksonville State University (AL), as well as a Master s Degree in Education from the University of West Georgia (GA). Stoker earned Teacher of the Year honors from three different schools for which she taught and coached. Stoker previously led squads on all levels to regional and national recognition. She is now in her fourth decade of professional experience in this area.
