Industrial Maintenance & Electrical Training Fast Track Industrial Maintenance Skills training /per level This training instructor led/facilitated program utilizing the Amatrol on-line modules and hands-on activities will provide for the knowledge foundation maintenance personnel need to successfully support plant systems. This self-paced training program includes six 3-hour classroom sessions and a 6 month subscription to the Amatrol on-line training modules. 2 2D CAD Drafting for Maintenance Personnel (32 hours) An introductory course in drafting techniques for industrial maintenance technicians concentrating on the practical development of ladder logic diagrams, control panel layouts, and field installation drawings using the Solid Edge 2D Drafting software package. Solid Edge is freely available as an internet download, is compatible with the AutoCAD file format, and is ideal for maintenance employees who need to design, fabricate, install, or maintain industrial equipment. Suitable for maintenance personnel with previous training in electrical and mechanical maintenance practices. (Mon/Wed) Oct 12 Nov 4-4:30-8:30pm - Location: Floyd Campus Instructor: Bill Scoggin Intro to PLC Programming: Automation Direct (32 hours) An introductory level class covering the basics of programming the Automation Direct family of Programmable Logic Controllers. Topics include timers, counters, and other typical relay ladder logic circuits using the DirectSoft32 Software package. Intended for personnel with prior motor control or industrial experience in a related field. (Tues /Thurs) Oct 13 Nov 5-4:30-8:30pm - Location: Floyd Campus Instructor: Dick Tanner Intro to Smart Relay Programming Teco SG2 series (32 hours) An introductory level class covering the basics of programming the Teco SG2 Programmable Logic Relay (PLR). Topics include timers, counters, & other circuits using both relay ladder logic & function block logic with the SG2-Client software package. Intended for personnel with some prior motor control or industrial experience in a related field. No prior PLC programming experience is needed. (Mon /Wed) Nov 9 Dec 9-4:30-8:30pm - Location: Floyd Campus Instructor: Bill Scoggin Intro to PLC Programming: Siemens (32 hours) An introductory level class covering the basics of programming the Siemens S family of Programmable Logic Controllers. Topics include timers, counters, and other typical relay ladder logic circuits using the Portal 11 Software package. The Siemens touch screen HMI device will also be used during the course to interface with the PLC programs written. Intended for personnel with prior motor control or industrial experience in a related field. (Tues/Thurs) Nov 10 Dec 10-4:30-8:30pm - Location: Floyd Campus Instructor: Dick Tanner Organizational Improvement & Quality Common Sense LEAN Training 15 hours (Five 3-hour sessions) - $295 per person This training offering includes an introduction to and the real-life application of the LEAN Tools necessary to help an organization achieve improved productivity and the elimination of waste. Students will have the opportunity to use these tools in the workplace with instructor support, during the course of this 5- session training program which will include the following topics/tools: LEAN Overview, Production Management, 5S, Standard Work, Problem Solving, LEAN tool chest. Participants will be able to assess the circumstances of a problem, develop and evaluate alternative solutions to a problem, develop an action plan to implement the best solution(s) Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions, reassessing decisions and taking corrective action, and use a variety of problem solving tools that can be used in various steps of the problem solving process, such as: Brainstorming, Nominal Group Technique, Pareto Chart, Process Flow Chart, Check Sheet, Cause and Effect Diagram, Force Field Analysis, and 5-Why Analysis. 3 Lean Boot Camp: Training a Lean Champion (24 hours) $1000 per person In Partnership with: This course is designed so students are able grasp a vision for the future, develop a plan to get from the current state to the future state and lead continuous improvement. The course is centered on training through hands-on application. The course is much like a case study. You learn for a purpose. Through the use of the factory simulation, we experience typical manufacturing operations issues. We focus on learning to see waste and finding solutions to reduce/eliminate waste. As a class we map the primary Value Stream and use the map as a guide for selecting and implementing improvement ideas. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a 10 hour Training Certificate, plus the official OSHA 10 hour wallet card. This in-depth outreach course covers specific OSHA standards and requirements as they apply to general industry and teaches safety awareness which helps in recognizing and reducing the risks of job site hazards. Intended for workers with some safety responsibility, the 30-hour training covers safety and health hazards workers may face in industrial work sites. 4 GLOBALLY HARMONIZED SYSTEM (GHS)/NFPA 70E ARC FLASH - 4 hours $79 per person GHS - This program is aimed at supervisors, managers or chemical specialists who are responsible for OSHA or WHMIS health and safety in the workplace. In the USA we will be discussing GHS within OSHA 29 CFR NFPA 70E Arc Flash - This training seminar provides participants with a basic understanding of NFPA 70E. Develop options for compliance and the methods for evaluating any facility for electrical hazards. What you will learn? Where does it come from? Why is it so important? How is it structured? Our Forklift Instructor Certification course provides a three year operator license as well as instructor certification. The first day consists of operator certification. The second day is devoted to techniques for one on one and classroom training. Each Student Will Receive: (1) Forklift Operators Card valid for 3 years from completion date, (2) Forklift Train The Trainer Card with no expiration date, (3) Instructors Manual with all forms, quizzes, etc in 3-ring binder for easy duplication, (4) electronic copy of forms, (5) PowerPoint Presentation with further forklift training media, (6) Written copy of basic Forklift Safety Training Program (meets OSHA approval and all compliance guidelines) will be included in Trainer s Manual.
