2 ABOUT US Centre for Hospital Human Resource Development is a training initiative for health care staff in hospitals. It is a learning center which will allow for learning of health care skill sets, enhancing experience into qualification and continued lifelong learning. We aim to create, convert and sustain individuals as qualified health care providers. It came about due to a strong need of trained Health Care staff at the ground & middle level. The primary objective of the centre is to create a cadre of trained technicians & Health Care assistants; executives & managers who can assist in patient care. Today the Indian Health Care industry employs a lot of young individuals who are qualified with their credentials but lack in required skill set and other group not qualified to work as Health Care staff. They learn on the job and then spend years without a proper career graph or monetary incentives.we aim to extend better opportunities to such individuals. As the concept of patient care and service quality evolves in our country, there is going to be a greater stress on the need for trained and qualified Health Care staff. We would like to bridge this gap and we sincerely believe Better Training Better Healthcare The training programs are going to be unique as we will provide in-depth knowledge as well as extensive practical training. Individuals will be trained in various Technical, administrative & managerial areas. The common element of Patient Safety, Ethics, and Service Quality will be imbibed into each and every individual irrespective of their vocation. For this purpose we have a team of faculty for whom Health Care and Health Care Training is an important issue. Through our common interest and individual skill sets we are sure that together we will be able to build a centre of excellence in Health Care Training.

3 OUR PEOPLE Megha Pusalkar Megha has done her M.A. in Hospital Management Nuffield Institute (WHO Collaborative Centre) University of Leeds, Leeds, U. K.She has worked in various hospitals, where she has initiated systems and procedures for both Quality Assurance and the HR departments. She has trained nursing staff, resident doctors, and support service staff on capacity building. She has been the Academic Director for Bharati Vidyapeeth University Centre for Health Management Studies and Research. She has designed the program and the course curriculum for both the MHA and the PGDHM courses. Megha has taught at Bharati Vidyapeeth and at Symbiosis on Quality Assurance Systems, Leadership and Health Care Management. To her credit, Megha has conducted and presented a study on Classification of Adverse Events in a Critical Care Setting in the context of developing countries Study presented at a Technical Committee Meeting for Patient safety at Barcelona. Paper on urban health inequalities published in the IHDP document Towards sustainable global health in 2008.She is currently the Director of the Centre for Hospital Human Resource Development. Interest Areas: Systems Development and Staff Training. Dr. Shilpa Bhalgat Shilpa has a BHMS degree and has also done her PGDHM, MHA and MBA. She has 16 years of work experience both in hospitals and educational institutions. She has also done Courses in Six Sigma Green Belt, Services Marketing Management, and Project Management and in Quality Management & Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Shilpa has worked on NABH Projects. She has worked at Pune University and Bharati Vidyapeeth Centre for Health Management Studies and Research as a Coordinator, Asst Professor and guide and has contributed to the syllabus. She has presented a paper on Career options in hospital management at HOSPICON 2012.She is currently the Academic Director at the Centre for Hospital Human Resource Development. Interest Areas: Finance Management, Quality Assurance, Human Resource Management, Operations Management and designing courses for health care.

4 Kavita Dsouza Kavita holds an MA in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences with a specialization in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work. After acquiring her degree, Kavita worked with a number of NGO s for women and children on capacity building, documentation, organizing workshops and setting up vocational training programs. She has designed and developed customer centric training programs on customer service, team work, English as a second language. Kavita has worked at Bharati Vidyapeeth Centre for Health Management Studies and Research as a Coordinator, lecturer and guide. She has trained the staff at hospitals on customer service and team work. Currently she works with the Centre for Hospital Human Resource Development as the Training Director. She is an NLP practitioner and a certified DISC administrator. Interest Areas: English Curriculum Design and Development, Capacity Building. Ms Shilpa Chopade Shilpa Chopade holds a Bachelors degree in Nursing (B.Sc.Nurse) along with Certifications in Infection control and Advanced Nursing Administration from Medvarsity Hyderabad. She is a certified BLS and ACLS provider (AHA- Symbiosis Pune) She has cumulative experience of 6 years as Staff Nurse, Nursing educator and Infection control nurse. She has solid knowledge of comprehensive nursing care procedures and excellent direct patient care skills. Reputation as a self-directed professional with superior problem solving, communication, and quality of patient care. Management skills. Successful in managing time, prioritizing tasks, and organizing projects to improve the quality patient care. She has trained the hospital staff on basic life support, and patient safety. Currently she is working as HCA programs head at Centre for Hospital human Resource Department, Interested areas: Improving Bedside Nursing Skills, Quality Patient Care
