LiDAR is used in a wide range of value-added applications: Hydraulic organization: the elevation models are fed into the various onedimensional or multidimensional hydraulic models. Forestry organization: LiDAR provides the vertical structure of the vegetation in order to obtain the main parameters for stock, growth and season quality estimation calculations. Cadastre and town planning: Detection of new built areas. Engineering: Cartography of power lines and modeling of catenaries. Tracasa 30
31 Product Data Sheet Value-added Remote Sensing applications This service fulfils the need for land occupation data through the application of remote sensing techniques and statistical models. Among others we apply remote sensing for the estimation of crops, agricultural statistics production of land occupation cartography, monitoring restrictive measures during droughts and urban consolidation areas. Remote sensing provides an overall view of the territory at a given moment and time. We possess the necessary know-how of the latest applicable technologies: block ortho-rectification, topographic, atmospheric and radiometric corrections, image merging, index calculation, intelligent classifiers (classifications by object taking into account not only the radiometry but also texture and morphology aspects, decision trees and neuronal networks, change detection) Applications: Irrigation water management: this requires, as an essential condition, determining the size of the irrigated area and the crops grown on it. It also allows us to carry out a monitoring of irrigation water allocations. Urban water management: remote sensing is an effective tool for monitoring the use of water in urban recreational areas (swimming pools and green areas). It also allows monitoring of urban consolidation for water need assessment purposes.. Farming and territorial management policies: for the purposes of designing farming subsidy and territorial management policies, remotesensing allows us to identify the existing types of land use and crops. Moreover, it can be used as a control tool on subsidy schemes. Tracasa 31
