5 Evaluation Tracking AANN Is Using Electronic Evaluations for the 2015 Stroke Conference If you are seeking continuing education credits, you can print your certificate of credit upon completion and submission of the evaluation form. As you sit through your sessions, use the following questions as prompts to jot down your impressions of the sessions you attend and the posters you view. How effective were the presenters? Did the presenters demonstrate expertise in the content area? Did the presenters use teaching methods that facilitated learning? Did the presenters deliver a balanced presentation free of commercial bias? Use your notes as a resource to fill out the online evaluation, which will ask you to evaluate each session based on the learning objectives using a scale of 1 to 5 (1 = strongly disagree, 5 = strongly agree). The electronic evaluation will list all of the objectives for each session. Visit AANN.org/strokeconference to access evaluation forms. Prepare yourself and your staff with the newest resource in stroke nursing. COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW FOR STROKE NURSING The AANN Comprehensive Review for Stroke Nursing is a resource for nurses preparing for the SCRN exam and those looking for a review of current best practices for providing stroke care. Gorelick, MD MPH FACP Medical Director, Hauenstein Neuroscience Center, Saint Mary s Health Care, Grand Rapids, MI Stroke centers are the epicenter of organized care for acute stroke patients and rehabilitative and recurrent stroke prevention efforts. In this address, we will trace the development of primary and comprehensive stroke centers in the United States. We will review a series of publications from the American Heart Association s Get with the Guidelines stroke database and from other sources that demonstrate the impact of stroke centers on heightened stroke care, outcomes, and their influence on the reduction of positive entropy (disorder) in stroke care. To make staff efforts more efficient and satisfying, we also will discuss efforts to fine-tune health care that may benefit stroke patients through industry methods such as Lean.
