On dispay for the first time wi be Aixam s Coupé, a new mode to add to the noicence vehice range which aready incudes the City, City S, GTO, Crossine and Crossover. Aixam-Mega has ong been aware of the major changes in both use and behaviour facing the automobie industry. That is why it has constanty been deveoping new ideas. The company is your key to the future with its e-aixam range : no-icence eectric vehices fitted with cutting-edge Lithium batteries. And just to prove it, an eectric City and Coupé wi not ony be on dispay on the stand but aso tested outside throughout the Paris Motor Show! 4 Mondia de Automobie A word premiere for, the Aixam Coupé The French car-maker unveis its Coupé in Paris. This decidedy styish mode wi take its pace in the range aongside the City, GTO, Crossine and Crossover. The Coupé is avaiabe in three finishes and takes after the other modes in terms of mechanics. Aixam s Coupé wi first and foremost appea to younger urban drivers of both sexes who ike to stand out from the crowd. Origina and sophisticated are the words that sum up this new Aixam mode, the Coupé, which wi go on show for the first time in Paris in autumn This no-icence vehice is the atest addition to the range offered by the Aix-es-Bains car-maker and has a the characteristics you woud expect from the make: a PMMA ABS high mechanica resistance on an auminium structure, a two-cyinder, 400 cm 3 water-cooed Kubota diese engine, VSD-controed automatic transmission and a ength of 2.99 m. The Aixam Coupé, which ike a other no-icence vehices is a two-seater, is noticeabe for its body shape - that of a Coupé. This reay is a «first» in no-icence vehices. The front of the car is smooth and styish with streamined ights and round enses integrated into the radiator gri. But the most identifiabe part of the Aixam Coupé is the side profie or the rear. The designers wanted to come up with a pedigree vehice with a definite and distinguished stye. In order to achieve this, the whoe rear of the car was rethought, reworking what has proved successfu in mass-production makes. The resut is a more soping roof with a sharper incine at the rear, dropping down over the side windows. This origina shape creates a great side profie. A spoier at the top of the rear window emphasises the «distinguished» aspect of the vehice. The overa resut is both origina and peasing. The air-conditioning option is we paced on the no-icence vehice market and can be incorporated without atering the interior stye so there is no compromise in the comfort and user-friendiness of the vehices. What are the origins of this new addition to the range? «The Aixam famiy has grown consideraby over the ast few years especiay with the City, the GTO, and the Crossover. But we were missing a more distinctive ook, et s say a more urban or even a more feminine stye. We fet a coupé ine coud fi the «gap» and so we designed this new very trendy vehice which is very much in the same spirit as some recent arrivas on the traditiona market. It is amost three metres ong and its ower rear gives it great character. In Paris we wi present the three finishings that are about to be marketed: the S, the Premium and the GTi.» 2 / How does Aixam manage to produce such a compete range? «What makes Aixam different is that we have an extremey effective and reactive industria team. That means we are abe to deveop and present a new mode fairy easiy for a niche market for exampe. We can rotate our products and their position depending on targets we set ourseves. That way we can satisfy and arge and varied cientèe. Aixam currenty offers the most substantia range of no-icence vehices. And we intend to keep it that way.» 3 / One of the ast major deveopments was the Crossover aunched in What resuts has that mode produced? «The Crossover quicky found its pace within our range and our deaers are happy to have a mode of this type, one whose natura setting is a rura one. It s an attractive, muti-task vehice which appeas to a broad spectrum both in terms of age and socio-professiona categories or ocation. The saes figures we have achieved with the Crossover since its aunch have been very satisfactory. The vehice came on the market a year ago and the saes curve is rising and continuous.» 8

What are its main attractions? «The Mega e-worker reay is the urban utiity vehice of the 21st century. Its origina design with a panoramic cab, fu-window doors with maximum opening as we as the fact it is eectric make it a very attractive vehice. For professionas, its traction capacity in excess of 1,400 kg is a major pus in this category. The growth in saes is good and the fact that it now has N1 cassification is going to hep us enormousy.» 5 / How are no-icence vehices bearing up given the genera goom that has descended on the automotive market? «The cassic automotive market is suffering in terms of voume. But where traditiona cars have dropped 14% overa, no-icence vehices have remained stabe. I think we are entering a new era where the socia roe of the no-icence vehice as compared to the moped as we as its safety aspect especiay for the young is going to hep its growth. In fact a young person who has driven a no-icence vehice for a coupe of years before taking their test in a traditiona vehice wi aready be a seasoned driver.
