6 License Control Starting with RealPresence Media Suite version 2.0, RealPresence Media Suite has introduced new license types. All current users of Capture Server 1.x who upgrade to RealPresence Media Suite 2.0+ are entitled to the basic license. A Pro License and Platinum license can be added to provide additional functionality. Based on the size of deployment, a Scalability Mode license may also be available. 13 Products Tested with this Release RealPresence Media Suite 2.1 systems are tested extensively with a wide range of products. The following list is not a complete inventory of compatible equipment. It indicates the products that have been tested for compatibility with this release. Note: Supported products You are encouraged to upgrade all your Polycom systems with the latest software before contacting Polycom support to ensure the issue has not already been addressed by vendor software updates. Go to Polycom Support Service Policies to find the current Polycom Interoperability Matrix. Video conferencing systems use a variety of algorithms to compress audio and video. In a call between two systems, each end transmits audio and video using algorithms supported by the other end. In some cases, a system may transmit a different algorithm than it receives. This process occurs because each system independently selects the optimum algorithms for a particular call, and different products may make different selections. This process should not affect the quality of the call. 15 Release Notes 2.1 Type Product Version AKAMAI latest Tips: How to use the menu to control the playback from HDX The menu for controlling the playback are as follows: start playback: *5 stop playback: *3 pause playback: *1 resume playback:*2 fast forward: *6 fast backward:*4 If use *3 to stop the playback, you should use *5 to start the playback again; if use *1 to pause the playback, you should use *2 to resume the playback. 21 Installation and Upgrade Notes Caution: All configuration files must be backed up before upgrade Make sure all configuration files are backed up before upgrade. RealPresence Media Suite 2.1 supports the following upgrade path: v1.6 > v1.7hf > v1.8 > v2.0 > v2.1 v1.6.1 > v1.7hf > v1.8 > v2.0 > v2.1 v1.7 > v1.7hf > v1.8 > v2.0 > v2.1 v1.8 > v2.0 > v2.1 RealPresence Media Suite 2.0 makes significant optimization for system structure and database, so v1.x cannot upgrade to v2.1 directly. The customer will have to upgrade to each version in order to get to v2.1. After upgrading to v2.1, the administrator is required to change the default console password when log into the admin portal. Please log into the system through SSH (default console user name and password are polycom\polycom) and set a new console password. Polycom, Inc. 21

22 Known Issues The following table lists all known issues in all releases of RealPresence Media Suite. Known Issues Category Issue No. Description Workaround Easy Capture 9673 Need to click Cancel twice to cancel upload archive in Easy Capture APP. Easy Capture 9741 The live streaming cannot be restart immediately if you click the Stop button to stop the live event from Easy Capture APP After upgrade to 2.1, Media Suite unable to send if SMTP is enabled. Playback 7735 Cannot play the archive if the NAT address is pointed to an outside network and the Media Suite Player is inside the network from the Admin Portal. Playback 8066 Media Suite Player timer does not display a live event ongoing time from Internet Explorer. Recording 9434 After recording an audio only meeting, the recording archive cover always displays In Progress. Recovery 9732 If the USB stick is not pulled out after into the Recovery mode, the system reboots automatically. UGC 8499 User cannot upload a media file after a recording is started and there is no archive in My Media Center. User Portal 7451 Cannot log out from the User Portal on the phone platform. Use Pause instead of Stop if you want to stop live streaming temporarily. Or you can start the same live event two minutes later. Disable SMTP from Configuration > Customization and save the configuration, then enable and reconfigure the SMTP related parameters again. After the mail server reboot, the function works well. Play back the archive from the User Portal. Use Chrome to display the live event. Audio only cannot be played in User Portal. Contact Administrator to download audio only archive to local for playing. Pull out the USB stick right after getting into the Recovery mode. Upload the media file after recording, or upload media file before starting recording. Close the window on the browser. Polycom, Inc. 22

User Portal 9694 If user has logged into the User Portal by IE, and clicks the User Portal link in the notification , user needs to log into the system again. User Portal 9722 Grant Permission AD users are not backed up when do system configuration backup. User Portal 9771 When follow the instructions from player window to enable Native Client, type about:flags in Address Bar may not redirect to chrome://flags page but a search result page. Copy multicast URL from Admin Portal, and send out the URL by . User IE 10 and above or other supported browsers. Download other browsers to access to the user portal. Delete duplicate sites manually. Log in the system again or use other supported browsers. Back up Grant Permission AD users manually before system configuration backup. Use chrome://flags instead of about:flags when enable Native Client for Chrome. DSP 9671 In Appliance Edition with DSP, play back archive to meeting may miss first I frame due to open DSP port delay. DSP 9683 The overlay texts overlap each other when meets the following items: 1. Appliance Edition with DSP 2. People + Content video 3. Video content does not fill the whole screen 4. Overlay text is total or partial in the black background 5. More than one overlay texts are added to the video Use dual window layout. Polycom, Inc. 23

24 Resolved Issues The following table lists the resolved issues in RealPresence Media Suite 2.1. Resolved Issues Category Issue No. Resolved in Release Description Browser MP4/WMV live streams or VoD streams cannot be played on Mac OS Google Chrome from version (64-bit) using the Microsoft Silverlight Player plug-in. From version , Mac OS Chrome (64-bit) has stopped supporting 32-bit plug-ins, now supporting only 64-bit plug-ins. This has caused the Silverlight Player plug-in, which is provided by Microsoft, as only the 32-bit version on Mac OS, cannot be loaded by Mac OS Chrome browser (64-bit). Browser Media Suite player using IE in full screen mode is covered by desktop taskbar on Window 8. Browser There is an unexpected alert "This site uses a plugin (Easy Capture plugin) that will soon be unsupported" after open the easy capture from Chrome upgrading to version 43. Device Management Device Management Device Management Device Management The RealPresence Media Suite, Virtual Edition, environment loses its license after moving the VM host to another VM host Disk warning cannot be updated in real time, so the data of free disk space in the warning message is not accurate Cannot delete logs when the log size reaches the warning level OVA does not support shut down guest function from the VMware VSphere client. Easy Capture No recording file is created if recording file name does not contain letters and numbers. EP Recording If the VMR has a PIN code, the system cannot successfully start either a live streaming or a recording. Playback If you play back unsupported media format from mobile device, error message "Resource not found" is popped up. Playback From Chrome, attempting to play back VoD may get the error message, Current user is not in allow list, need log in with other user. Playback The first six to nine seconds of video is cut off after media playback to a meeting through VMR. Polycom, Inc. 24

Transcoding Media Suite cannot transcode the recording to the MP4 file if AD is enabled. UGC No prompt message to inform the user the archive cannot play back if the bitrate is higher than 4Mbps.
