4 1. DASHBOARD USER GUIDE 1.1. Dashboard Access The University of Leeds Energy Dashboard can be accessed from the following web link: Select Energy Dashboard from the right hand side Menu and click on the link available on this page Home Page The home page offers two routes to each dashboard, either by the navigation menu or by locating the building on the site map. Each method provides a roll-over to show that the building has been selected. The right hand navigation pane will show all buildings including any that are off the campus map. 4

5 1.3. Dashboard Features The dashboard will load to feature individual meter information, building data and other associated kwh analysis. Top left icon Hyperlink back to the homepage. Top right icon Hyperlink to the userguide. 5

6 Individual Meter Dials The dials display the last read kwh value and the scale represents the peak read value. A selected meter has a highlighted orange header and its associated historic data is shown in section (3). To view another meter simply left click the appropriate dial. A greyed out meter indicates the particular source is not in use Display Energy Certificate (DEC) If a DEC is available then the energy rating and a dotted line will indicate the current/ recommended score. Where a DEC is not required, the section is greyed out. Typical building rating Energy Rating 6

7 Historic Meter Analysis This graph displays the archived meter data for the selected dial in section (1) and by utilising the drop down menu alternative time periods can be chosen. This data can be downloaded via the CSV button in the top right hand corner. In addition to daily/weekly/monthly analysis, there are also comparison time periods which overlay data. 7

8 Carbon output This comparison graph plots the carbon output for this year aginst last year EMR Building Data This displays the building floor space which is used to calculate the total kwh per m2. 8

9 Total kwh analysis The bar graph shows the last 24 months total kwh usage on a rolling month by month basis. The drop down menu offers a Pie Chart which shows the current years kwh usage percentage split. This shows the combined yearly energy usage in kwh for all measured utilities, with the exception of water Measure in kwh: Electricity Heat Gas Photovoltaic. 9

10 Energy Consumption Where building floor space is available the energy consumption can be calculated and the past 3 years are shown as a comparison. The current year data will continue to increase until the 31 st December (calendar year end). At this point the true year on year comparison can be made. 10

11 1.4. Energy Dashboard Information The University Energy Dashboard is powered by a DGLux application which provides a graphical front end allied to the Universities Tridium Workplace (Niagara) AX metering system. DGLux allows users to monitor, analyse and download building level data for specific period where metering data is available. This will enable users to look at historical data for comparisons and act as enabler to find areas for improved efficiency, be able to view the big picture of building performance and over time be able to drill down to floor level for key buildings. The Energy Dashboard has been engineered by One Sightsolutions Ltd from data being gathered from an esight Energy Management system as part of the project. 11
