2 Virtual Office Initiative 1. Over a one year period we converted 38 traditional brick and mortar offices into virtual teams in the field. 2. Reinvested real estate and other savings into 62 additional vehicles and equipment for each field parole officer, so work could be done in the community instead of an office 3. Equipped Officers with appropriate technology to be effective working from their homes and vehicles

3 Background The primary purpose of the parole officer is to supervise parolees in the community. Research indicates that focusing intense supervision on high risk cases effectively reduces crime and recidivism.

4 Enhanced Community Supervision By supervising offenders where they live, fostering relationships with those who know them best, and becoming familiar with local resources and high-risk areas, parole and probation officers are much better positioned to manage their caseloads.
