BRIGHT GREEN ISLAND Vision with targeted actions By 2014 we will be established and known, positioned in the debate on climate changes and energy sources By 2025 we will be an attractive island based on 100% sustainable, renewable energy and invironmentally and ethically responsible in all its actions
Bornholm Energy strategy of Bornholm Energy strategy of Growth Forum Bright Green Island action plan from action to attitude

Green Solution House The primary purpose is to perform a visionary demonstration building that will inspire national and international stakeholders in the built environment to develop and work to implement sustainable solutions. The construction is based on the circuit of both biological and technical materials inspired by the principle of sustainability CradletoCradle but is not limited by same. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), the vision of "Active House and Green Build Council in a Danish context will also be incorporated. Green Solution House is based on a site with an existing hotel, situated in Ronne, Bornholm. The site has approx. 65,000 sqm. The existing buildings are constructed in the '60s, '70s, '80s and '90s and are representative of the decades of construction methods and building style. In April 2014 Green Solution House opens to visitors: Conference facilities 350 delegates Hotel rooms/apartments 102 Offices for R & D
GREEN SOLUTION HOUSE - BASED ON A TRIPLE GREEN STRATEGY - NEW TO THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT. LOCATED AT BRIGHT GREEN ISLAND BORNHOLM, DENMARK The building sector consumes about 40% of total energy consumption in Europe. Design research can help to reduce this energy consumption, which opens up a promising and extensive market. Green Solution House incorporates innovative thinking in industrial design and architecture together with first movers in this field. Solutions Green Solution House will continuously focus on improving the Life Cycle Design, innovative solutions in building materials, waste management, water treatment and renewable energy solutions combined with dynamic replacement of relevant solutions during the lifetime of the building. Results The world will benefit from Green Solution House because it will show better materials and solutions in buildings, create networks and share knowledge which will lead to less use of energy, focus on sustainable materials, waste management, design to disassembly and biodiversity. It is also a showcase for an environmentally, economically and socially development of a remote area which can easily be duplicated around the world. AF TRINE RICHTER /
The four goals of the Green Solution House are: To be a platform for the highest level of sustainable development To be an example of continuously improvement To show solutions on biodiversity, materials, energy, water, and waste To grow a local and global network for knowledge sharing At Green Solution House we want visitors to leave inspired and be able to contribute positively to local and global communities Completion: 2014 Budget: 85 mio. DKK Architects: Steenbergs Tegnestue, GXN/3XN (design and project management), SLA Landscape Engineer: Rambøll Strategic Advisors: William McDonough + Partners (Cradle 2 Cradle ) Financial support: Realdania, EUs Regionalfond, Carl Edvard Mogensens Fond, Bornholms Brand, Bornholms Erhvervsfond, Sparekassen Bornholms Fond, Fonden for Beskæftigelsesfremmende Initiativer AF MICHAEL BERG LARSEN /
