We have been helping companies and organizations diversify their energy sources and especially go for Green Energy. We have provided consultancy into Green Energy such as Micro-Hydro Projects, Solar PV systems, and Briquettes. 3 1.1 Our Main Products and Services a. Boiler Conversion from Oil fuel fired to solid fuel fired Lean Energy is a pioneer company in Kenya that converts Boiler from fossil fuel fired to Lean Briqs Fired. We reduce the cost of steam generation by converting their boilers from oil fired to solid fuel fired on BOOT basis (Build, Own, Operate and Transfer) for a contractual period of 7 to 10 years depending upon the investment. We undertake the project of completely transforming client s boiler by installing furnace, pre-heater, ID fan and other accessories. This is ensured through constant supply of the briquettes, firing of briquettes and smooth generation of steam as per client s requirements. b. Manufacturing of Lean Briqs (Briquettes) Lean Energy has procured, installed and commissioned a briquetting machine to use biomass in Muhoroni to manufacture Lean Briqs (Briquettes) to help curb the rising costs of fossil fuels. c. 7 1.3 PROJECTS COMPLETED BY LEAN ENERGY SOLUTIONS LTD Briquettes machine procurement, Installation and Commissioning at Sasini Coffee Briquetting Machines: We have a tie up with the leading manufacturer of Briquetting machines. Lean Energy was awarded the tender to procure, Install, commission and test the project after a rigorous tendering process that featured big companies. What is Agro waste fuel Briquette? Biomass Briquetting is the process of converting low bulk density biomass into high density and energy concentrated fuel briquettes. Briquettes have high specific density (1200 Kg/m3) and bulk density (800 Kg/m3) compared to 60 to 180 Kg/m3 of loose biomass. These can stand the ardors of long distance transport. Loading/unloading and transportation costs are much less and storage requirement is drastically reduced. Approach & Methodology The Services for the execution of the Coffee Husk Briquetting project was conducted as follows: We helped Sasini to take all steps to facilitate procurement, installation and commissioning of the equipment which was used to manufacture Briquettes. We made necessary arrangement and ensured that the components of the respective actual component costs forming part of the total project cost fall within the stipulated and approved budget and within the stipulated period. We helped Sasini to receive quotes from different suppliers, undertake analysis of quotes and maintained a record of such analysis and quotations including all relevant documentation which are requisites for processing of reimbursement from Donors. We signed a 6 year binding contact under BOOT basis. Lean Energy procured, installed and commissioned the boiler within the stipulated period on the contract. Approach & Methodology The Services for the execution of the Boiler project was conducted as follows: We took all steps to facilitate procurement, installation and commissioning of the equipment. We made necessary arrangement and ensured that the components of the respective actual component costs forming part of the total project cost within the contract. 10 We updated Equator Bottlers regularly on the logistics of procurement, shipping, construction/installation and commissioning. We arranged meetings for Equator boiler in relation to the implementation of the Project. Flamingo Tiles Pre-dryer conversion from LPG fired to Lean Briqs Firing - BOOT Flamingo Tiles is a leading manufacturer of Tiles in Kenya located in Kitengela. After successful signing of contacts between the two parties, LES procured, installed and commissioned a Pre-dryer at Flamingo Tiles which helped achieve a substantial savings of 35%. APPROACH AND METHODOLOGY The Services for the execution of the Pre-dryer project was conducted as follows: We took all steps to facilitate procurement, installation and commissioning of the equipment. We made necessary arrangement and ensured that the components of the respective actual component costs forming part of the total project cost within the contract. We received quotes from different suppliers, undertake analysis of quotes and maintained a record of such analysis and quotations including all relevant documentation. We updated Flamingo Tiles regularly on the logistics of procurement, shipping, construction/installation and commissioning. Flamingo Tiles Spray Dryer from IDO fired to Lean Briqs fired - BOOT Also, LES converted Flamingo Tiles Spray dryer from IDO fired to Lean Briqs Fired. This project was also undertaken under the unique methodology of BOOT basis. This has helped achieve savings of 25% compared to the cost of IDO.

11 Universal Corporations Ltd s Boiler conversion from IDO fired to Lean Briqs fired - BOOT Universal Corporations Ltd is one of the leading Medical Manufacturing companies in East Africa. LES and UCL entered a contractual agreement on BOOT Basis for Lean Energy to procure, install and commission a 1TPH the boiler. This was completed successfully within the stipulated period in the contract. This project has helped UCL to achieve savings of 25%. Spin Knit Ltd Boiler Conversion from FO to Lean Briqs fired - BOOT Spin Knit is a producer of Textiles in Kenya located in Nakuru. LES and Spin Knit Ltd signed a binding contract that authorized LES to procure 3TPH boiler accessories, install and Commission to help Spin Knit to achieve savings of 25%. Osho Chemical furnace conversion from Kerosene Fired to Lean Briqs Fired - BOOT Osho Chemicals ltd is a reputable company not only in Kenya but also in East Africa. It deals in agro chemicals. LES entered into a contract with Osho Chemicals ltd to procure all the accessories, install and Commission the furnace. This was the first conversion under BOOT basis. Spinners and spinners- Installed new boiler to be fired using Lean Briqs from FO - BOOT Spinners and spinners is one of the leading textile/spinning industry located at Ruiru Kenya. We signed a 7 year binding contact under BOOT basis. Lean Energy procured, installed and commissioned the boiler within the stipulated period on the contract.
