GSM ALARM SYSTEM GCM 8 GCM8 is a universal alarm system. It can be used as alarm system in vehicles, apartments, houses etc. Also GCM8 can be used for opening garage doors. GCM8 is designed to work with mobile phones Sony Ericsson. Way of operation Description is made with acceptance that input is normal closed. In a way of operation GCM8 does not differ from an ordinary car alarm. GCM8 is controlled by mobile phone and this is the main advantage of the system. GCM8 can be controlled from any point at Earth via GSM network. Preparation for wok: - Mobile phone have to be connected to corresponding cable connector; - Short the input; - Connect power supply 12V Dc All leds have to light. At this time GCM8 is making tests to mobile phone. If phone pass tests only led GSM OK light otherwise GSM error will light. If GSM error lights this does not mean that GCM8 will not work with this mobile phone. Only some functions may not work for example sending SMS. Phone functionality has to be checked by the user. There is one button in GCM8. GCM8 will enter programming mode when this button is pressed. In programming mode leds Alarm ON/ Alarm State will light. At this time GCM8 reads phone numbers saved in PHONE memory at positions 1-15. These are the numbers with which GCM8 will work. After programming GSM OK will light. But if not all 15 numbers are found in SIM this led will blink. After switching off the power (12VDc) it is not necessary to reprogram GCM8 because phone numbers are stored in its non-volatile memory. Alarm states Alarm is running The alarm has to be active flashing led ALARM ON indicates this. Opening the input will run the Alarm State. Then led ALARM STATE light. Output relay siren will close its contact. And GSM will dial the first programmed phone number (for example this will be the number stored at position 1 in PHONE memory). After 30 seconds GSM will make a call to the next phone number. After time about 1 minute siren will be switched off. But making a call to phone numbers continues until reaching the last stored number. After making a call to each stored number at 30 seconds interval led ALARM STATE will be turned off. Then the input is not observed for about 30 seconds. Even the input is opened the alarm will not enter in Alarm State. But after 30 seconds if the input is still opened the alarm will repeat the whole cycle turn on siren and dial numbers. Only one call is made to every number. If the user wants to receive two calls in Alarm State he can store his number two times in PHONE memory
Alarm deactivating - The alarm has to be active flashing led ALARM ON indicates this. The user has to make a call to alarm phone. If his number is NOT stored in alarm memory the call will be terminated immediately. But if the number is programmed in alarm memory the user will hear 4(3) signals before automatically closing the line. The alarm will deactivate led ALARM ON stop to light, siren will be turned on two times for time 2 second. Output relay UnLock will close its contact for 1,2 seconds. But after deactivating the input is still observed for a time of about one minute. If the input does not open in this 1 minute interval the alarm will automatically activate itself. This function is very useful and almost all alarm systems have it. For example user deactivates its car alarm but if the door of the car is not opened 1 minute after deactivating the alarm will be activated automatically by itself. Activating the alarm Alarm has to be in not active state this is indicated by nonlighting led ALARM ON. User has to call alarm phone. If his number is stored in alarm memory he will hear 2 signals before automatically call termination. Alarm will activate led ALARM ON will begin to blink. Siren will be turned once for a second. Output relay Lock will close its contact for time 1,2 seconds. Activating and deactivating with balance resistor - Described processes of activation and deactivation can be provoked by connecting resistor with value 2,7k to connector DEACT. This function is very useful when connecting hidden panic button to alarm or when mobile phone is doubled with radio remote. The resistor is measured with high accuracy but the connecting wire length has to be less than 1 meter. Stopping run alarm Alarm has to be in run state this is indicated by blinking led ALARM ON and lighting ALARM STATE. When the alarm make a call to user he can terminate it. Afterwards the user can dial the alarm phone. The alarm automatically terminates the call and enters in active state siren and led ALARM STATE are turned off. The input is not observed for 30 seconds. If it is still opened after 30 seconds the alarm will enter run state again. Receiving SMS with alarm status if the user call the alarm phone but he terminate the call not waiting this to be done by the alarm after 10 seconds the alarm will send SMS to the user with text ALARM ON or ALARM OFF. The alarm will not change its state. Connector description GSM charge this is phone charging connector. Phone charger has to be connected to GSM charge. (Attention! Keep shown polarity. There is no protection. The phone may be damaged).
This method of charging is not recommended because it can cause the phone to turn off periodically. The best way is to use for example car battery to power the phone using DC/DC converter replacing the phone battery. Input Alarm input. Its active state is user defined. The jumper shown on the picture above defines input active state. Deact. Input for activating/ deactivating with balance resistor 2,7? 5%. Power Alarm power supply 12V DC non-stabilised (Keep shown polarity). Power consumption is less than 150mA. Siren This is normal open contact of relay 10A 120VAC. Siren is turned on once when activating alarm and turned on twice when deactivating alarm. When using GCM8 as car alarm this output can manage car flashes but external diodes have to be connected. UnLock / Lock These are normal open contacts of relays 10? 120VAC. Relay Lock will close its contact for 1,2 seconds when activating alarm. Relay UnLock will close its contact for 1,2 seconds when deactivating alarm. These outputs can be used for controlling central lock when GCM8 is used as car alarm system. Button It is used for programming phone numbers to GCM8 memory. NORMAL / SILENT These jumpers define how alarm will activate and deactivate. If jumper normal is used siren will be turned on once when alarm activate and twice when deactivate. If jumper silent is used then siren will not be turned on. This function is useful when using GCM8 as alarm system in apartment.
