Secure-ISS OnEmail Service Thanks for selecting the Secure-ISS OnEmail service for your email solution. The following steps outline how to setup the OnEmail service for use with the Apple Mail. 1. Start the "Mail" program. If you haven't previously added an account to Mail, the window below may automatically appear:
If you don't see this window, click File, then Add Account:
2. Enter your name, address and password. Enter the settings shown below: "Full Name" is the name that other people will see when you send an e-mail. It should usually be your real (and complete) name, such as Steve Jobs. Type your e-mail address into the box marked "Email Address". The address has to be identical to the email address that was setup for you in the OnEmail setup. Use the email password you changed your account to when you logged into your e- mail for the first time through the web-client. Click Continue when finished. You might see a window that says "Mail can't verify the identity of 'example.com'" with options of "Show Certificate", "Cancel", and "Connect". If Mail displays this window, simply choose Connect.
3. Enter the "Incoming Mail Server" settings. Enter the settings shown below on the "Incoming Mail Server" screen: "Account Type" should be "IMAP". "Description" can be any text you choose. It should include Zimbra or OnEmail so you can identify the account, should you have multiple addresses/ accounts. Enter zimbra.secure-iss.com as the "Incoming Mail Server". Type your e-mail address again as your "User Name". The user name must be all lowercase. The password should be already filled in from the previous screen. Click Continue when finished.
4. Enter the "Outgoing Mail Server" settings. The outgoing mail server settings will be almost identical to the incoming settings. Enter the settings shown below: Again, "Description" can be any text you choose. Make it your e-mail address if you're not sure what to enter. Enter zimbra.secure-iss.com as the "Outgoing Mail Server". Make sure the Use Authentication checkbox is checked. Type your e-mail address again as your "User Name". The user name must be all lowercase. The password should be already filled in from the previous screen. Click Continue when finished. 5. Review the "Account Summary". The account summary screen will play back your entered data. Provided everything was put in correctly, you should be on your way. Your emails will now Sync to your Apple mail, upon closure of the Summary screen.
A note on Special Folders To direct trashed, draft or sent messages into the proper IMAP folders, you must map the default Apple Mail folders to special folders: Open Mail.app Click on the Trash folder under your Zimbra account (You will probably find this at the bottom of the left hand menu); Go to the Mailbox > Use this Mailbox for and select Trash Do the same for Sent and Draft folders (Your Draft folders should have sub-folder options for each account at present) They will now appear below the Mail.app Trash, Sent and Draft folders along with the special folders from other accounts. You will likely end up with new folders in the Zimbra section called 'Deleted Messages' and 'Sent Messages.' You should delete these folders now (move any mail before you delete them) Zimbra Connector for Apple isync This download enables applications such as ical to synchronise calendar and contacts with a Secure-ISS OnEmail server for the user. https://zimbra.secure-iss.com:7071/zimbra/downloads/zimbra-isync- 6.0.4_GA_1999.MACOSX_UB.dmg For instructions on how to install and setup this software, please refer to the official Zimbra pages. http://www.zimbra.com/docs/ne/5.0.11/zcs_connector_for_apple_isync_guide/ The settings required for this installation are as follows: Hostname: zimbra.secure-iss.com Port: 60443 Use Secure Connection: yes Username: The zimbra email address that has been setup for you.
