Up to 10 transfer credits may be applied towards your degree at Trent University. There are three types of credits at Trent University: 1. Assigned An assigned credit is granted when the content of a course at another university or college is considered an exact equivalent to a course at Trent University. 2. Unassigned Departmental An unassigned departmental credit is granted when the the course materials from another university or college is comparable with the subject material in a discipline at Trent University, but for which there is not an equivalent course. 3. Unassigned General An unassigned general credit is granted when the subject of the course is not taught at Trent University. Note: All transfer credits are recorded as a pass grade. Applicants who have previously attended a post-secondary institution are automatically evaluated for transfer credits. If you receive an Offer of Admission, the results of your transfer credit pre-evaluation will be posted on your mytrent portal account: trentu.ca/mytrent You will be notified by email if course syllabi from previous post-secondary institutions are required for transfer credit assessment. FIND YOUR PATH: FROM COLLEGE TO TRENT The charts below outline specific details about agreements with Ontario s. However, students are not limited to these degree options listed below. Students must complete the college program with a minimum average of 75% to receive the transfer credits outlined below, unless otherwise specified. Admission Requirements Agreements with all Ontario s Trent-Fleming University Transfer Program (General Arts and Science) This unique partnership provides students who may not meet Trent s admission requirements with the opportunity to develop academic knowledge and skills in an environment that closely reflects a first-year university experience. The one-year program begins at Fleming, where students may earn five transferable first-year credits towards a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree at Trent University. To be eligible, students must achieve an overall average of 70% and a minimum of 65% in the program-assigned courses at Fleming. Successful students may qualify to progress directly into year two at Trent University. Applications for the University Transfer Program are made through the Ontario Application Service: ocas.ca Trent-George Brown Nursing Bridge Program The R.P.N. Bridge to B.Sc.N. program is open to graduates from any two-year Registered Practical Nursing (R.P.N.) diploma program who are registered in good standing with the of Nurses in Ontario. Don t forget to include all official transcripts: ouac.on.ca Two or three days after application, Trent will send an email with next steps, a Student Identification Number, and information about the mytrent portal where applicants can track documentation requirements. MAIL STEP #1 STEP #2 Apply Offer TIP: Apply to Trent early. Programs and courses with limited enrolment may fill up quickly. Successful applicants will receive an Offer of Admission by email as well as a mailed package. Successful applicants will also receive a preliminary assessment of transfer credits at this time, which will be posted to their mytrent portal account. Trent may request course syllabi to assess remaining courses and transfer credits. Transfer credit assessments are typically MAIL completed within two to four weeks after syllabi are submitted.
