In other action, the Board Adopted the 2014/15 School Year Strategic Plan. The next regular Board of Education meeting will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2014, 7:30 p.m. at the District Administrative Office 8502 Bailey Road in Darien, Illinois. Administrators Addendum Dear Cass School District 63 Families: Tomorrow evening the Darien Committee for Intergovernmental Coordination will conduct their second annual Town Hall Meeting. This meeting will give an opportunity for the various public organizations, including Cass School District 63, an opportunity to highlight some of the things that they are doing to enhance, improve and move forward their organizations, as well as respond to questions in a panel format. We will be highlighting our Science and technology programs and President Mike Webster will be representing our school district for the panel discussion. The Town Hall Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 25 at Chuck s Southern Comforts Cafe from 7:00-9:00 p.m. We hope you are able to attend and see all that Cass School District 63, as well as other organizations, have to offer. Please see the flyer included in this newsletter for more information. The recognition is the highest level awarded and is based on data gathered from a thorough evaluation, which included an intensive multiple-day site visit. According to ExceleRate Illinois, a statewide quality rating and improvement system, the recognized Gold Circle of Quality programs have met the highest quality standards in three areas: learning environment and teaching quality; administrative standards; and staff training and education. These programs are actively engaged in continuous quality improvement. We are extremely proud of this recognition and especially of the Concord Elementary School Prekindergarten Staff, Administration and school families for their collaborative efforts in defining, developing and implementing a truly first class Prekindergarten program that allows Cass School District 63 students to have the outstanding opportunity to develop an excellent formal educational foundation. Due to a change in state law, School Districts are no longer involved in the process of distributing or accepting Board of Education Election packets. If you are interested in running for a seat on the Board of Education, you should contact the DuPage County Election Commission at 630/407-6500, or you may visit their website at www.dupageco.org/election or you may also print a Candidate Petition Packet from the following link: http://www.dupageco.org/election/candidates/48208/. Packets may also be obtained from the DuPage County Election Commission, located at 421 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton, IL 60187. Petitions may be circulated beginning Tuesday, September 23 and the filing dates for the petitions are Monday, December 15 through Monday, December 22. Page 3 of 10

Mission: The purpose of the Cass District 63 Fine Arts Booster (FAB) is to support and promote the Fine Arts Curriculum by raising money to be donated and spent on items, activities or services which offer students optimum exposure to the fine arts. FAB fundraisers are solely for the purpose of enhancing the experience of the children of Cass District 63. FAB will help fund the following for the 2015 Academic Year: Art Club Brookfield Zoo Symphony Concert Concord Chorus Shirts Picture Frames Springfield Trip Solo Concert Accompaniment FAB would like to THANK ALL of you that participated in the magazine drive this year. It was a huge success. This fall we started selling pizza and drinks during the Cass home football games. The first week was a hit with the students. Please have your students join us for future games to cheer on the team and raise money for FAB! Future Fundraisers: Concert Seating Raffle for Cass and Concord - Ongoing Buy a raffle ticket for only $1.00 to win your chance at getting 5 front row seats.
