Definition of Positions Implementation Consultant Involved in the implementation of an ERP/CRM system. Duties include requirements gathering, implementation & configuration, testing, end-user training, ongoing maintenance & optimization of the system. Techno-Functional Consultant Involved in the technical & the functional aspects of the implementation of an ERP/CRM system. Duties include system integration, configuration & customization, serving as liaison between implementation consultant/business analyst/management team & the development team. Technical Consultant/Developer Involved in the technical aspect of the implementation of an ERP/CRM system. Duties include writing & testing code that meets business requirement specs, system integration & customization. Analyzing & resolving complex technical & functional issues. Pre-Sales/Solution Consultant Involved in the sales cycle of an ERP/CRM system. This person is often a senior implementation consultant and a sales professional at the same time. Duties include supporting the ERP/CRM Sales Executive by providing system demonstrations to prospective clients. This consultant may join the implementation team as a project manager, or senior implementation consultant.
Definition of Positions Solution Architect Involved in the sales cycle & the implementation of an ERP/CRM system. Duties include ensuring that what is being promised, can also be delivered. In addition, they help to architect out the delivery/implementation plan with their deep understanding of multiple modules and how these modules communicate with each other. The solution architect puts together the blueprint for the staffing, timing, budget and technologies necessary to implement a successful system. The presales/solution consultant is often the Solution Architect, except in some large reseller organizations. Business Analyst Provides application-level support for end users on ERP/CRM systems. Duties include improving business processes, managing the development, implementation and maintenance of the ERP/CRM (and related) systems, establishing strong interdepartmental partnerships, discovering needs and translating requirements into functional and technical specifications, performing project management duties, and managing multiple projects and overseeing developers, consultants and vendors. Practice Manager Leader & overseer of the Dynamics ERP/CRM practice. Usually focusing on a single Microsoft Dynamics product, but sometimes multiple products. Duties very widely depending on the reseller s size, structure & culture. They include being ultimately responsible for the success and growth of the practice, high-level project management, full-cycle system implementation,& personnel/team leadership & management. Sales Executive Responsible for the procurement of new business (sale of services and software). The HUNTER (i.e. Sales Executive) is responsible for closing business with new clients. Duties include lead generation, cold calling, on-site sales meetings & ultimately Closing. The FARMER (i.e. Account Manager or Inside sales Manager) is responsible for procuring new business from existing clients. Duties include nurturing existing clients (account management), and finding opportunities to sell more products and/or services.
