To access the utility bar touch the menu button. - Scope Mode: Normal mode - Pointer Mode: In this mode the mouse cursor is always visible. You can drag it around the screen with a single finger. Tap the screen when the pointer is on what you want to select. This mode is best in windows applications not setup for a touch screen environment. Recommended for Eaglesoft. - Draw Mode: This mode allows you to draw and sign in a signature box. This needs to be selected to sign Fast Check in. 3
Setup for Xoom use in the Office Setup Office Computers Verify Remote Desktop is enabled Win XP/2003 1. Click Windows start button. 2. Right mouse click on My Computer and select Properties. 3. Click Remote tab. 4. Check mark Allow users to connect remotely to this computer. 5. Click Apply and close out of window. 4
Setup for Xoom use in the Office Setup Office Computers Verify Remote Desktop is Enabled Windows 7/Vista/2008 Windows 7 shown. (Some screens may vary between operating systems) 1. Click Windows start button. 2. Right mouse click on Computer and select Properties. 3. Click Remote settings. 4. Select Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop. 5. Click Apply and close out of window. 5
Set Static IP Addresses Win XP/2003 Setup for Xoom use in the Office 1. Click Start, and then Run 2. Type cmd, and then click OK. 3. Type ipconfig /all, and then hit enter on keyboard. 4. Record IP Addresses for: IP Address Subnet Mask Default Gateway DNS Servers 5. Close out of Command window. 6
6. Right click My Network Places and select Properties. 7. Right click Local Area Connection and select Properties. 8. Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) once to highlight, and then click Properties. 7
9. Click Use the following IP address: 10. Fill in the IP addresses obtained in step 4. 11. Click OK, close out of windows left open. (Perform these 11 steps for all computers in the office wanting to connect to with Xoom) 8

Setup for Xoom use in the Office Setup Xoom Purchase/Download itap mobile RDP itap mobile RDP will need to be purchased from the Android Market. (Note: An account with Android Market will need to be setup) 1. Touch Market Icon. 2. Touch Search Market at top center. 3. Type in itap RDP, then ENTER. 4. 2 results will be displayed (A trial version and a full version) 5. Touch the full version and it will download. 6. Follow the onscreen instructions. Setup Xoom Setup Bookmarks 1. Touch itap mobile RDP icon. 2. Touch MENU BUTTON. 3. Touch NEW BOOKMARK. 4. Touch inside the Label box. 5. Type in the name for the bookmark and touch OK. (example: FastCheckin) 6. Touch inside the Host box. 7. Type in the IP address of the computer connecting to and touch OK. (example: 192.168.1.70) 8. Touch inside the Screen box. 9. Touch inside the Resolution box. 10. Select Normal (1024 x 768). (Computer needs same resolution) 11. Verify Filtering is check marked. 12. Touch BACK BUTTON 2x 13. Touch on the new bookmark just created. 14. Touch on Username box. 15. Type the Username of the computer connecting to (example: Admin) and touch OK. 16. Touch on Password box. 17. Type in the password for that user. (Leave blank if no password) and touch OK. 18. Touch Logon to connect to computer. ***itap Users Guide will give more detailed operations*** 13
Setup for Xoom use out of Office Prerequisites 1. Get Static IP Address from Internet Provider for Office. 2. VPN Router in Office. Setup VPN (Virtual Private Network) Router Setup (Linksys RV082 VPN Router shown) 1. Log into the Router. 2. Select VPN PPTP Server. 3. Check mark Enable PPTP Server. (Screen will expand) 4. Type Xoom into User Name: (User Name can be any description for Xoom tablet) 5. Type a password into the next 2 blocks. (Keep records of your password, it is recommended to use a strong password, 8 characters to include at least 1 capital letter, 1 number, and 1 symbol.) 6. Click Add to list. 7. Click Save Settings. (This allows up to 5 devices to VPN into the network) 14
Setup VPN (Virtual Private Network) Xoom Setup Setup for Xoom use out of Office On the Xoom tablet: 1. Touch Settings - VPN settings Add VPN Add PPTP VPN 2. Touch VPN name box. 3. Type Xoom (or any other name to describe the connection) and touch OK. 4. Touch Set VPN server box. 5. Type IP Address from Router System Summary - Network settings Status - WAN1 IP. Then touch OK. 6. Touch Menu Icon at top left, then touch Save. 7. Now the new connection will be listed below VPNs 8. Touch on the new connection and fill in the Username and Password used in router VPN setup. 9. Check mark Remember username and touch Connect. 10. Xoom tablet will connect to network and itap mobile RDP will now be able to remote into other office computers. 15
Setting up Multiple Xooms in Office Limitations: Windows 7/XP Professional Only one user/xoom can be connected to a computer at a time. Computer cannot be used while Xoom is connected in. Server 2003/2008 Two Xooms can be connected to a server 2003/2008 computer at the same time. 1 st Xoom connected will allow office to use computer. 2 nd Xoom connected will not allow office to use computer. Additional Remote Desktop Client licenses may be purchased to allow more than 2 users on server 2003/2008.
