It was launched in year 2005 and brought in to Malaysia in year 2007. JCI Petaing Jaya started hosting it since 2009 until now. Each year, top 10 Finalists were selected and from there, 3 were selected as winner. Beginning in year 2013, one lucky winner is selected by the Commonwealth Asia Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs (CAAYE) to attend and speak at their CAAYE Summit. Being an internationally recognized award, elements of CSR and compliance to UN Global Compact is one of the key area in the judging of the winners and finalists of JCI CYEA. We want nominees and youth to not just focus on donation or one-off charity, but aim to be active citizen to create sustainable impact which can benefit the communities and the world thru the power of entrepreneurship. This year, under area of Local Economic Development, one of the main focus is JCI CYEA Buddies program. This program was created by 2013 JCI CYEA Winner Adnan Lee after the 2013 JCI CYEA Award Ceremony. From a whatsapp group comprising of the 2013 JCI CYEA Top 10 finalists, the JCI CYEA Buddies has expanded to include other past and current winners and finalists. In Malaysia, entrepreneurship is the element of success to the country. Therefore, cultivation in from the youth is essential. As a youth, the opportunity to explore in business world is limited. JCI Creative Young Entrepreneur Award is a platform to let the youth get in touch with successful entrepreneur and learn from them. In order to achieve that, a series of sponsor by the entrepreneurs or corporate to the youth to attend such event is help. For entrepreneurs, they do charity work by donating money. JCI CYEA create a platform for them to contribute to the society by doing CSR contribution such as Entrepreneur sharing, Sponsor Youth to such event as mention. This bring win win situation to both parties.
