This is not surprising as Asia will emerge to be the third economic power in the world by the next decade. What this means is that there are ample opportunities for new businesses and greater opportunities for creation of jobs and careers in Asia. 2 2 National HR Leaders meeting was held on 29th August 2014 at MIHRM Corporate office and well attended by industry leaders. The group approved the course outline for the Certified HR Director Programme. Expected launch date of the programme is first quarter Programme to be the first of its kind in the world. National HR leaders seen in serious discussion in developing the programme. Crafting the HR landscape in Malaysia Launching Of HR Network-Certification Program MIHRM is one of the four international bodies partnering with TalentCorp to deliver HR Certification Programmes in Malaysia. MIHRM is also the only professional body which delivers the programme and is also the certification body. The launch was held on 15th August 2014 at KL Hilton. Seen here at the launch MIHRM management team with the TalentCorp industry partner. MOU with IPRM The first meeting of the National HR Specialists Group was held on 10th July 2014 at MIHRM office. About 10 functional HR specialists attended the discussion and shared some of the industry s best practices from their respective organizations. The group also endorsed the Malaysian HR competency framework. The next meeting of this group is scheduled to be held on 9th October 2014 at the MIHRM office. This session will also see participation from the National HR Academic group. Seen here the HR specialists deliberating on the ideas. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on 12th August 2014 in Kuala Lumpur and witnessed by both Presidents, Dato Haji Ibrahim Abdul Rahman (IPRM) and Mr. Aresandiran J. Naidu (MIHRM). The MOU will enable both Institutions to collaborate, develop and offer Courses in Public Relations and Human Resource Management for executive, senior management and director levels. The thrust is to enable organizations to develop the knowledge, skills and behavioural competencies of their Human Resource Management to acquire critical Public Relations capabilities and vice versa. 3 3 Malaysia HR Awards Stage 1 evaluation was conducted by a panel of HR Managers on 26th & 27th August The evaluation was carried out for several categories such as Employer of Choice, SME Best Employer, Malaysia HR Innovation, HR Best Practices, HR Leader of the Year, HR Manager of the Year, HR Specialist of the Year and HR Best Student Project Award. Stage 1 evaluation of the Malaysia HR Awards Seen here are he panel of judges with the MIHRM team. MIHRM recently gave a presentation to IBM's senior management regarding its products and services. IBM currently in an expansion mode here in Malaysia with a Human Resources Department close to 300 executives expressed keen interest in MIHRM's Certified Human Resource Manager's program to be conducted either in Petaling Jaya or Cyberjaya. Give time and resources into developmental activities TIPS ON EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT What are the characteristic of a highly valued engaged employee? The engaged employee is one who wants the company to succeed. He is the employee who walks the extra mile to do more than just a good job. He is doing it not to project himself or to secure his future. He simply loves the company, and wants the company to succeed in such way that he can keep being proud to be a part of it, and continue to be a part of it, and he wants to do all he can to keep it that way. As a result, we can expect that; 1. Highly engaged employees take primary responsibility for their own engagement 2. Highly engaged employees are enthusiastic about work, because they believe in, and are inspired by the business 3. Highly engaged employees do not think the company owes them a living, or owe them anything. 4. Highly engaged employees identify themselves to the customers 5. Highly engaged employees take the initiative to help colleagues bogged down with work and deadlines. 6. Highly engaged employees are very focused. They have little time to gripe about who is saying what about them. 7. Highly engaged employees exhibit six behavioral drivers As a HR Manager today, you must move beyond the tested concepts of the past. Yes, those concepts are to be maintained at all costs, and you are to top them up with the new. and the new is EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT! Keeping them excited for the company.
