FEB 2015 NEWSLETTER FOR CALUMENT CHAPTER President s Message Dear Friends: I imagine that the hardest President s message that I will ever write will be my final one but for now the hardest one for me to write is the December message about the winter holiday. In fact I was tempted to ask Tina Arteaga, Newsletter Director, who I think has done a great job with this newsletter simply to reprint my message where I wrote about The Elf on The Shelf. However, this year in the mail came a brochure from the Munster Theatre at the Center for Visual and Performing arts which in it listed the 2015 schedule. On the schedule playing from November 19, 2015-December 27, 2015 is A Christmas Story. A Christmas Story was written by Hammond Indiana Native Jean Shepherd and is a story about Ralphie s quest for the Red Ryder BB gun that long ago Christmas. Now you might ask why would I be so excited that this play was coming to a venue in Munster Indiana? If you are on the Calumet Chapter Board you may know that for the past several years Dick Mielcarz has served as the Master of Ceremonies and entertains us with a unique brand of trivia. At last year s holiday gathering one round of trivia was about A Christmas Story. The reason the brochure excited me was I thought this would be a wonderful special event for us the Calumet Chapter to participate in Dinner and play and perhaps we could get someone from the accounting department at the Center or to speak to the group and it could really bring things together. During this holiday season I hope you have the chance to get together with your loved ones and I hope that the Calumet Chapter has provided many special events for you in the pass and here is hoping for many more. Mark T. Camarena, CMA President El Presidente Calumet Chapter IMA (a not for profit association of accountants and finance professionals in business. Dear Fellow Members, I want to apologize for not producing a newsletter for December & January. I was having some medical issues, and trying to enroll my daughter in college. I was asked by my doctor to take some time to myself. I did as the doctor asked and am feeling better. I thank everyone for their support and ask that you forgive my inability to produce the newsletter. I think we will be back on track for the rest of the year. Regards, Tina Arteaga Newsletter Editor
