NGSS Data Consolidator (DC) The Data Consolidator (DC) facilitates system configuration, monitors network status, and supervises long-term data storage and remote data transmission. The DC consists of one CPU, one or more Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices, a Digital Camera Interface (DCI) for each camera, at least one Ethernet switch and an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) for each. The CPU, NAS units and DCIs are networked together via the Ethernet switch. The DC includes a Graphical User Interface (GUI) for configuration and maintenance. Access to this web browser requires a valid crypto-token. In extended systems, multiple cameras are connected to data consolidator (DC) servers that receive, store and, in remote monitoring applications, forward data. The DC provides primary camera power via the communication and power cable that runs from the DCI to the camera, supplied by the UPS and powered by AC mains. The DC also provides short-term backup power via the UPS batteries for the cameras in case of loss of AC mains. The camera contains its own long-term battery backup for extended power outages. The NGSS Data Consolidator (DC) is designed as a 19 in. rack-mounted unit with the following subsystems: One or more DC chassis containing: One Central Processing Unit (CPU). One or more Digital Camera Interface (DCI) s. One or more Network Attached Storage (NAS) s. An Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) for each. One or more 16-port Ethernet switches (installed on the rear of the rack). Universal AC mains power input. A touch-panel configuration interface (Optional). NAS Reader (Optional) Separate from the Data Consolidator. (3) UPS s (1) CPU (1) NAS THE DC CHASSIS (1) DCI The DC Chassis supports architecture goals of modularity and interchangeability. Each chassis is designed to fit in a standard 19-inch rack and hold up to four of any CPU, NAS and DCI combination along with a UPS for each. Industrial components used in the s provide extended operation in adverse conditions. The chassis accommodates a wide range of power input: 90-240 V ac; 50-60 Hz, 5 A max per chassis.
