I felt it really important as an international student to attend Sydney TAFE s free, five-week Employability Skills Workshop. I can happily say I learnt so much more than I expected. Sure, I learnt how to write an excellent resume and covering letter, but I also learnt how to be confident and show the best of myself during an interview. There were even tips on Australian workplace culture! I applied for a job on Friday, the same day I finished the workshop, got interviewed on Monday, and I began work on Tuesday! 16 Marleynda Mariko, Indonesia Aged Care

After receiving very practical training from lower level TAFE design qualifications, continuing into a degree seemed to be the perfect opportunity to gain a more theoretical approach to design and build stronger skills for my career. The degree program has not only offered me a more thorough understanding of design, it s surprisingly also helped me become more socially aware.
