How to Look Up a Class Step 7 Click on the drop down box under Search by Term. Select the desired term and click Submit. Page 6
Step 8 Complete the Look Up Classes screen and click Couse Search. Also, please be aware of the links at the bottom of each page that will help you navigate to other areas of the system. Page 7

What do the various column heads mean? NOTE: Please be aware of the link to register for Independent Study or Online courses (there is also a tutorial to learn how to do this) as well as the information on registering in the Southwest region of the state. Page 10
If there is a blank box in the Select column for the course you need, click in the box and scroll to the bottom of the page where you can click on either Register or Add to Worksheet. By clicking Add to Worksheet, you will see that the course CRN is placed in a worksheet, but does not register you for the class. You can find additional courses by clicking Class Search. When your worksheet is complete, click Submit Changes. This process will double check any restrictions you may have in registering, such as: link error (needs a lab), pre-requisite and test score error, seating capacity, wait-listing position, time-conflicts etc. Page 11
Courses that are accepted will show as **Web Registered** with the date of registration. You will also see the total number of credits registered along with any Registration Add Errors. The Status indicator will tell you the reason for the error. Some of these errors will be explained in more detail later in this tutorial. Page 12
For more information about a specific course, click on the CRN link (example A below). To continue searching courses, click the Look Up Classes browser window. Continue to search until you have all required CRN s. Please be aware of time-conflicts and pre-requisites for each course. A Time-Conflict will require the authorization from BOTH instructors on the Registration Options Form http://www.usu.edu/registrar/forms/pdf/registration_options_form.pdf A Pre-requisite error will require the authorization from the course advisor on the Registration Options Form (use the link above). The course advisor can be found within the department the course is being taught. (i.e.: The Accounting advisor is in the Accounting Department in the College of Business, COE Advising Center, Bus 309). Advisors can also be searched on the Undergraduate Advisor Directory by going to www.usu.edu/advising/advisors and click on the link to view or print the list of advisors. Registration errors can be electronically authorized by the academic advisor allowing you to register online. When you re ready to register, click Submit changes. Page 14

If you are currently registered, your schedule will appear. Please keep yourself informed by reading ALL notifications when you are logged into ACCESS (Banner). Important dates and deadlines will be posted here as well as published in other areas of the USU student system. Scroll down to use the Add Classes Worksheet. Page 17
Step 4 Enter the CRN s in the available boxes. Click Submit changes. Page 18
***Prior to dropping a course, please be aware of the important dates and deadlines. This will inform you of refund time frames as well as notation on your transcript*** To view the Dates and Deadlines schedule, go to www.usu.edu/registrar/dates. From here you can choose the specific semester. Please note: summer semester has multiple sessions. Please make sure you are viewing the correct session for accurate information. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR FINANCIAL AID COUNSELOR ABOUT THE IMPACT OF DROPPING COURSES. THE REGISTRAR S OFFICE DOES NOT HAVE FINANCIAL AID RULES ON HAND AND WILL REFER YOU TO THEM FOR ANY INFORMATION. FINANCIAL AID 435-797-0173. Step 5 Are you ready to proceed with dropping a course? Repeat steps 1-3 from pages 15 and 16. When your class schedule is displayed you will see the drop down boxes under Action. Click on the drop down box next to the course you would like to drop and choose one of the options listed and click Submit Changes. Page 19
You will see that your schedule has been automatically updated as per your request. PLEASE CHECK YOUR FINANCIAL STATEMENT BEFORE YOU LOG OUT. IF YOU OWE MONEY, PLEASE MAKE PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS AT THAT TIME (Please see the tutorial @ http://www.usu.edu/registrar/htm/tutorials on how to do this).
