Current role includes generating new business through writing grants and developing contracts, and planning and facilitating strategic planning and organizational development programs for leaders and managers in public health and healthcare. Experience and expertise in public health leadership, management and public health business planning, adult education. Portfolio of national programs: National Public Health Leadership Institute (Associate Director). Helped write PHLI grants funded in 2001, 2006 and 2007; helped design and staff 2007 alumni retreat; assumed operational leadership in October 2007. Responsible with a nationally distributed management team for designing and implementing curriculum for blended in person and on line programming; duties include identifying and integrating faculty, recruiting, team coaching, budget tracking. Started as a four year, $2.8 million pilot project to improve management skills and organizational effectiveness among state and local public health agencies. Caribbean Health Leadership Institute. Helped write 5 year, $4 million grant in collaboration with University of West Indies. Role is to consult and assist UWI leadership in designing and launching a sustainable leadership development program for HIV AIDS leaders. (7/07 6/10) gochli.org On Line Programs. Consult with the Association of State and Territorial Health Officers to assess their membership, design and help implement a custom development program for state Health Department Senior Deputies, to build management skills and strengthen the network nationally. (7/08 present) PREVENT National Violence Prevention Training Program (Co Director, Co PI). Fouryear, $3.6 million cooperative agreement with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to build skills in violence prevention among program leaders and practitioners.
