United Way Association of South Carolina Position Description Title: SC 2-1-1 Resource Database Specialist United Way Association of South Carolina Department: Reports to: Level/Status: SC211 Call Center Stationed in Charleston (Trident United Way) Director of Call Center Services Mid-level Management Exempt In compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, this position is classified as an exempt position and the employee is not eligible for overtime. Some evening and weekend hours are required. Last Updated: July 2015 Key Function/Purpose of Position: The Resource Database Specialist is responsible for maintaining the statewide comprehensive, accurate, community resource database. This position is also responsible for assisting in any reporting from the database, approval of new agencies/resources, and including but not limited to, researching new agencies and resources throughout the state. Key Responsibilities: Maintain community resource database in compliance with AIRS accreditation standards Monitor and enforce 2-1-1 s inclusion/exclusion policies, data elements, indexing & searching methods Be familiar and stay current with the structure and content of AIRS Taxonomy of Human Services Demonstrate and maintain proficiency in effectively using Service Point software Participate in activities to maintain individual and call center certification including in service training and continue education opportunities Oversee the extraction of resource data for reports Other Duties Provide call center and on-site disaster response management as assigned by SC 2-1-1 Columbia Call Center Manager. Coordinate relevant and timely communications both internally and externally as needed during crisis situations Provide backup call support for SC 2-1-1 Information and Referral, if needed. Share ideas as a team to further the mission and purpose of UWASC Promote a workplace environment that encourages both teamwork and personal growth Promote a cooperative spirit within the organization and among internal and external UWASC stakeholders Other duties as assigned by management Education: Associate s Degree in Office Technology, Human Services, Social Work or related field

AIRS certification CIRS or CRS or eligible to meet AIRS certification standards. Experience: One year successful experience in data entry, call center and/or customer service. Knowledge of and/or experience with Service Point System Software Knowledge of and/or experience with UCN System Software Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor s Degree in related field Two years experience in data entry and system maintenance Certified Resource Specialist (CRS) Crisis intervention training and experience The ability to complete certification as a Resource Specialist (CRS) by Alliance of Information and Referrals Systems (AIRS) after reaching the 2 year experience qualification. Additional Information: SC211 is a 24-hour Crisis Intervention and Information & Referral service. Work shifts may vary with some extended hours due to crisis or disaster situations. Successful completion of SC211 training is mandatory. The Call Center Data Specialist assists clients who contact the call center by phone, e- mail or letter. The Data Specialist identifies needs and provides information about appropriate resources to include aiding clients in crisis and those seeking volunteer opportunities. Key Skills: Minimum one year successful work experience in customer service and/or call center services Knowledge of Service Point and InContact software Must have excellent organization, communication, interpersonal and telephone skills. Computer and technical knowledge relating to call centers; proficient in Microsoft Office applications Crisis intervention training and experience Ability to read, analyze and interpret data and reports Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints Ability to calculate figures and amounts, including percentages Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Ability to interpret instructions in a variety of forms Interacts well with others and is able to maintain positive working relationships throughout the community with diverse groups of people and within a wide variety of work environments Ability to work with volunteers, committees and board members in the implementation of strategies, plans and projects Successful track record of managing multiple projects with a diverse customer base Knowledge of the non-profit sector in South Carolina Core Competencies: SC 2-1-1 Resource Database Specialist Page 2 of 5
