Bachelor of Design (Interior Design) Meaningful design, practical projects, hands-on experimentation and collaboration with the design profession characterise the Bachelor of Design (Interior Design) at Sydney TAFE, Design Centre Enmore. Professional interior designers need a solid understanding of design theory, backed by technical skills and knowledge gained through hands-on experience. By studying the Bachelor of Design (Interior Design) at Design Centre Enmore, you ll find everything you need to prepare you for an interior design career. You will learn how to create innovative, original concepts for commercial interior design projects, explore the spatial, structural and material elements of built interior environments and develop a comprehensive understanding of the interaction between people and spaces. You will develop the ability to think critically, work proactively and manage complex design projects from an initial concept through to a successful, detailed resolution. In your final year you will also complete a major project, specialising in an area of your own interest and undertake an internship. Alex Laughlan Course structure The Bachelor of Design (Interior Design) includes 16 20 hours of face-to-face teaching each week. You will also be expected to complete a further 20 hours of independent study a week. This course can also be studied part-time, over six years. To be considered for a place in this course each applicant must complete the following entry requirements: > > submit a 500 word written essay > > submit a design and/or art portfolio > > attend an interview (if you re an international student and can t attend an interview in person a phone interview can be arranged). Students whose first language is not English must also demonstrate English proficiency at a minimum IELTS level of 6.5, with a minimum level of 6 in any one band.
