We also teach the technical and practical skills necessary to translate those design ideas into reality. The course is provided online. You study at home, in your own time and at your own pace. On successful completion of this course you will be able to provide clients with design solutions that are as practical as they are visually pleasing, and you will have sufficient skills and knowledge to implement your design ideas successfully. Online education is becoming the preferred method of study for people all around the world because it is easy, cost-effective, and most of all, you can fit your study around your lifestyle. So if you are serious about a career in interior design, or you simply want to learn from the best, we invite you to take the next step now to designing your future. Enroll at The today. Our course brings you everything you need to achieve the success you want! 1

ABOUT OUR COURSE D esign is a universal language. It communicates subtle or overt messages for the end user. When it works seamlessly, design enhances life. This course consists of 12 modules and 12 corresponding interactive assignments that will guide you through the process required to be able to successfully design a residential space. It is through participation and interaction that you will develop understanding, confidence and your creative voice. These carefully constructed assignments are also designed to help you build your first professional portfolio to show off to prospective clients. Throughout the duration of the diploma course, you will be personally instructed by one of our leading designers who will take you on a fascinating journey through every aspect of interior design. You will learn how to see and what to look for when observing design in the world around you. HOW TO USE OUR COURSE When you enroll with The Interior Design Institute you will automatically receive your login details to access the secure Student Site and all of the information you need to get started. The Student Site is where you will find all of your course materials and where you can interact with your tutor and Student Support staff that will be there to guide you through every step of your journey. LEARN FROM SKILLED INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS As you work through the modules and submit each corresponding assignment you will gain access to the next module. You will find the assignments fun and interactive. Your tutor will assess your assignments, providing valuable feedback on your ideas and creative solutions for each design brief. At the end of this course you will have designed a residential space complete with lighting, fabric, color and furniture layout that will become part of your professional portfolio. All of your assignments are completed online and only basic computer skills are required, so don t worry if you are a complete beginner. On successful completion of this course you will receive your Diploma of Interior Design and be on your way to a new future. 2

MATERIALS NEEDED Because the course is provided online there are minimal drawing materials required. You will be notified by email when your assignment has been marked. Our technology allows you to interact with your tutor online through our secure Student Site. We have applications implemented so it is possible to submit your assignments via the Internet. This course is fully compatible with both PC and Mac computers. WHAT YOU WILL MASTER Y ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Previous experience in the design field is not necessary to enroll in our course. We only ask that you have enthusiasm and commitment. We recommend that you dedicate a few hours of study time per week so you can take your time to work through the material. Your tutor and Student Support will be there to assist you if you are having difficulty. Remember, every successful interior designer was once a complete beginner! ou will learn to speak the visual language of design. We all have the potential to speak this language fluently. Although, just as in a language based on words, there are those who speak the visual language more poetically and persuasively than others. For you to learn the art of how so much is communicated without words, we will begin a journey to make you aware of the basic elements inherent in residential design. When you understand how to recognize the presence of the different elements, your observation of existing design will become more informed. You will learn the art and the craft of creating beautiful and functional environments. 3

YOUR DIPLOMA T he s Diploma of Interior Design is awarded to successful graduates of this course. At the end of this 24 week course, you will have the skills and knowledge to position yourself competitively in a dynamic market place and positively impact on the quality of people s lives.
