The role of Film and Photography Producer Girlguiding is recruiting a Film and Photography Producer, reporting to the Design Manager, to work within our Communications & PR Directorate. The Film and Photography Producer will be required to organise, produce or commission photo and video shoots in various locations around the UK that fulfil the requirements of the organisation s projects, sourcing and briefing freelancers where necessary, liaising with volunteers and parents, completing necessary paperwork regarding venues, ensuring parental sign-off for every girl featured, and preparing contracts and invoices. He or she will also be required to manage the day-to-day development of Girlguiding s media library, including the sourcing, cataloguing and backing up of video and photographic material as well as act as the organisation s videographer/photographer when appropriate. The post holder must have experience in all stages of video production from preproduction, camera work (Canon, Black Magic), audio and video editing to final delivery, as well as interviewing on camera with all age groups and writing and working to scripts. He or she must also have the ability to communicate with people at all levels as well as knowledge of digital photography, photo-editing and photolibraries, and video filming and editing (showreel). Due to the nature of the work, weekend working will be required, at sites outside of London, for which time off in lieu will be taken. Job Description Basic job details Job Title: Film and Photography Producer Department: Design and Communications Reports to: Design Manager Directorate: Communications & PR Overall purpose of job To be responsible for the film and photography used by everyone in Girlguiding, especially those dealing with the organisation s PR and PA, Fundraising and Marketing, Publications, Magazine and Digital Communications. Main areas of responsibility To organise, produce or commission photo and video shoots in various locations around the UK that fulfil the requirements of the organisation s projects, sourcing and briefing freelancers where necessary, liaising with volunteers and parents, completing necessary paperwork regarding venues, ensuring parental sign-off for every girl featured, and preparing contracts and invoices. To act as the organisation s videographer/photographer when appropriate. To develop an in-depth awareness of the organisation s video and photographic stock and to provide suitable selections for projects and external requests through selecting pre-existing imagery or commissioning new material. To manage the day-to-day development of Girlguiding s media library, including the sourcing, cataloguing and backing up of video and photographic material. To manage the video and photography budget to include delivery of video projects on behalf of and for the organisation including project management, scheduling, budgeting, creative concepts and in-house editing. To keep up to date with relevant legislation, copyright laws and technology and cascade this to the team. To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required to fulfil the duties of this post. To undertake travel throughout the UK to support the business function. Knowledge and skills To shoot, edit and produce high quality photo and video projects, as well as manage agencies and freelancers to work on behalf of Girlguiding. To be able to manage the organisation s ongoing photo and video work with minimal supervision, and also work with multiple stakeholders on large, public-facing projects. To act as an advice and guidance point for all Girlguiding staff and volunteers on all photo and video work offering information and support on taking, storing, recording, cataloguing, editing and using both photographs and video footage.

To introduce new techniques and improvements to the existing systems and procedures as well ensuring Girlguiding is kept up to date with new technology within the field of photography and video. To lead brainstorming sessions regarding photo and video projects and execute the ideas generated. To keep up to date with current video trends and set out to create work that reflects Girlguiding as a modern and relevant charity. Planning & decision-making To plan project proposals ensuring they are strategically and tactically balanced. To adapt quickly to changes in circumstances and effectively negotiate around issues and communicate appropriately to all project stakeholders to ensure ongoing engagement and delivery for the project. Interpersonal skills To work with senior management on the planning of projects as well as with other staff on the delivery of the projects. To deal with external agencies including production companies, freelance photographers/videographers and sound recordists. To engage both adults and children while shooting photos and video footage. People development and leading To be responsible for the selection and coordination of freelance staff and to coordinate the work of a range of Girlguiding staff, agencies and volunteers. To be responsible, on an ad hoc basis, for work experience and intern positions for those wishing to work/gain experience.
Monetary responsibility: To manage a set amount (est. 20k+) from the Design and Communications budget line and for reporting and evaluating on activities associated with this. Additional information The post holder will need to work evenings and weekends as part of this role. This will be between 10 and 20 days per annum, for which time off in lieu is given. To undertake any other duties required to fulfil this role.

Terms & Conditions Contract Type This post is a full-time permanent post. Location You will be based at Girlguiding, Buckingham Palace Road, London SW1W 0PT. However, on occasions you may be required to perform your duties, on a temporary or permanent basis, from any other Girlguiding premises within a reasonable travelling distance of this location. You will be required to travel inside the UK on business of the charity. Salary/Rate Your salary for the position is 28,700.00 per annum (including London Weighting). Working Hours Normal hours of work are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with one hour for lunch. However, you may be required to work at times other than and in addition to your normal hours of work. Probationary Period The post will be subject to a probationary period of 26 weeks. Medical and Criminal Records Check This post may involve substantial access to young people and it is a requirement under The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 that you submit a criminal record disclosure check. Upon successful appointment, you will be required to complete a medical questionnaire. Employment is subject to satisfactory receipt of a medical and criminal records disclosure check. Holidays 25 days paid holiday per annum plus bank holidays. This increases after two years services as on 1 January to 26 days, and then a further one day for every two years of service, up to a maximum of 30 days for 10 years service and above. Holidays and bank holiday allowance will be pro-rata for part-time and fixed-term employees.
Terms & Conditions Notice Period During the probationary period, the period of notice required is one week by either party; it will be four weeks thereafter.
