GW PMA Mission: The promotion of the George Washington University's Master of Science in Project Management program, the project management profession, and the students within the program to employers and other professional organizations. To achieve this, the PMA will be a resource for student educational endeavors and professional/social events and networking.

Board Roles and Responsibilities
President The role of the president is to lead the GW PMA board of directors and execute the GW PMA strategic plan Serves as GW PMA chief executive Manages the strategic direction of the GW PMA Serves as main POC with GW university stakeholders Leads board of directors meetings Responsible for managing strategic documents (keeps them current) Creates meeting minutes for the board meetings Tracks action items Sends out reminders for meetings and conference calls Coordinates board meeting logistics (room, phone, projector needs) Maintains membership and board roster
Vice-President, Events The role of the Vice President, Events is to recruit and maintain GW PMA membership and provide oversight for GW PMA event planning Performs the duties of president if the president is absent or unavailable Maintains oversight for event planning and execution Develops forms and surveys the student body for event areas of interest Event Planning (rolling planning for calendar) Recruit sand coordinates non-board volunteers for GW PMA events Maintains membership communication and engagement with VP, Marketing & Communication The Board votes to implement all Event plans Coordinates facility needs at GWSB via Director of MSPM program
Vice President, Marketing and Communications The role of the VP, Marketing and Communications is to develop and execute the GW PMA marketing plan, and to establish and strengthen strategic ties with other organizations Facilitates strategic partnerships with alumni groups and academic departments Maintains the GW PMA brand Manages external and online communications about GW PMA (i.e., Social media, newsletter articles, flyers, Twitter feeds and LISTSERV) Coordinates with VP, Events on event registration materials, including but not limited to copy and Web presence Maintains outreach with current MSPM students The Board votes to implement all marketing and communication plans
Chief Budgeting Officer The role of the Chief Budget Officer is to maintain GW PMA financial records and advise the group on the fund s balance Prepares the preliminary budget for proposed events for the upcoming year Prepares and reports budget at monthly meetings Serves as primary POC regarding event funding Develops initial budget (have to submit calendar plan prior to earning funds) Solicits input from VP Marketing and Communications for expenses The Board votes to send all budgets to Director, MSPM Program for approval
Project Management Institute Washington DC Chapter Representative The role of the PMIWDC Representative is to maintain the GW PMA professional relationship and advise the group on professional networking opportunities Works with PMIWDC POC for University Relations Plans and executes 2-3 events per year Events can include happy hour, professional speaker, etc. Coordinates events with VP, Events Sees official Memorandum of Understanding for detail The Board votes to implement all PMIWDC event and networking plans
MBA Association Representative The role of the MBAA Representative is to maintain the GW PMA relationship with GWSB s MBA Association and provide new networking and educational opportunities: Works with MBAA to establish 2-3 events per year Events can include happy hour, professional speaker, etc. Coordinates events with VP, Events Coordinates budget with Budgeting Officer Provides networking opportunities for MSPM student body within GWSB
Distance Student Representative The role of the Distance Student Representative is to develop opportunities for distance student Involvement and Networking: Plans 1 2 distance student specific events per year or find opportunities to incorporate a distance element to on-campus events Establishes professional networking opportunities for MSPM students (such as online networking, etc.) Coordinates events with VP, Events to plan virtual events and schedule on campus events in room where event can be captured and made available for distance students
