Anbari Project Management Program Department of Management Science The George Washington University TEACHING Summary Curriculum Vita Teaching I participated in development and enhancement of the curriculum and courses in the project management (PM) program at GW and teach most of its core courses. As lead professor, I developed Mgt 269 Project Estimating and Cost Management and teach it on campus and in the Distance Education (DE) mode. I participated in the development of Mgt 268 Project Management Applications, taught its first offering in the DE mode, and taught it on campus and in the DE mode several times. I participated in development of Mgt 270 Directed Computational in Project Management and taught it several times. I also taught Mgt 231 Project Management, Mgt 267 Planning and Scheduling, and Mgt 202 Mathematics and Statistics for Management. I enjoy teaching, advising, and supervising MS students in their independent research, and PhD students in various stages of their studies. I taught on a part-time basis as an adjunct faculty member for over 25 years at Drexel University, Penn State University, Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science, University of Texas at Dallas, and GW, between 1976 and I presented executive development seminars between 1984 and the present. Student feedback indicates that they enjoy their learning experience and my teaching approach which integrates discussions, case studies, simulation, and research. ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE July 2005 Present: Program Director Fall 2002 Present: Assistant Professor: Tenure-Track Fall 1999 Spring 2002: Assistant Professor: Non Tenure-Accruing Spring 1999 Summer 1999: Associate Professorial Lecturer Project Management Program, Department of Management Science, School of Business, The George Washington University (GW), Washington, DC Develop and teach graduate courses in the Project Management program. Conduct research and publish research findings. Supervise MS and PhD students. Participate in committee service, as assigned. Teaching load: 4 courses per academic year. Taught two courses in Summer Courses Taught: Mgt 202: Mathematics and Statistics for Management (Graduate). Taught the Distance Education (DE) section. Also presented several sessions of the On Campus section pending assignment of an instructor to this course. Both sections were originally 1
2 scheduled to be covered by an instructor who could not join GW in the Fall He joined GW in the Spring 2003 and started teaching this course. Mgt 231: Introduction to Program and Project Management (Graduate). I taught On Campus sections. Mgt 267: Project Planning, Scheduling, and Control (Graduate). I taught On Campus sections. Mgt 268: Project Management Applications. I participated in developing this course and taught its first offering as a DE section in Spring Taught both On Campus and DE sections. Mgt 269: Project Estimating and Cost Management (Graduate). As lead professor, I initiated and developed this course in Fall 1999 and taught it starting in Spring The On Campus section of this course was subsequently assigned to one of our adjunct faculty members. He attended my presentation and recording of this course. I provided him with course material and support. He taught the On Campus section, on his own, in Spring 2002 Fall I started teaching both On Campus and DE sections again in Spring Mgt 270: Directed Computational in Project Cost Management (Graduate). I participated in developing this course and taught On Campus sections. Graduate Student Advising: Serve as member of the Dissertation Proposal Committee of Charlie Watkins of GWSB (2004 Present). Served as member of the Comprehensive Examination Committee of Rudy Watson of GWSB. Serve as member of his Dissertation Proposal Committee (2004 Present). Served as Advisor for Abdullah Bani Ali of GWSB in his PhD support area in project management. Served as outside reader on his Dissertation Proposal Committee and participated in the deliberations of the Committee on his proposal (Completed 2004). Served as member of the Comprehensive Examination Committee and as outside reader for the PhD Dissertation Committee of Robert James Voetch of GWSB (Completed 2003). Served as outside reader on the PhD Dissertation Committee of Michael Kull of GWSB and participated in the deliberations of the Committee on his dissertation (Completed 2002). Served as outside reader on the PhD Dissertation Committee of Christine Dai of GWSB and participated in the deliberations of the Committee on her dissertation (Completed 2002). Served as outside reader for the PhD Dissertation Proposal and 2

Served as summer research advisor to a former student at Penn State University in the Summer 2002 Research Institute. The MS degree student conducted research and completed a paper Information Technology Project Failure Factors and Project Management Processes. (Completed Summer 2002) Present Visiting Professor: Graduate School of Management of Lille (ESC Lille) Paris Campus, France Developed and presented a seminar on Organizational Maturity, Project Quality, and Six Sigma Method to graduate students in the Project Management Program at ESC Lille (GW Partner University), as approved by both UTS and GW Visiting Professor (honorary): University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Sydney, Australia Supervise doctoral students in the Project Management Program, as approved by both ESC Lille and GW Adjunct Professor Penn State University, Great Valley Campus, Malvern, PA Taught project management, operations research, and statistics to graduate and undergraduate students.
