POSITION TITLE: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES PERFORMANCE INDICATORS P.I. 3 Administration& Documentation DESCRIPTION Ensure that all documentation is accurate and completed in a professional and timely manner. Demonstrate ability to adhere and commit to cost effective/approved rosters following appropriate funding and rostering guidelines. Demonstrate ability to plan, maintain and provide input into budgetary matters and accepting responsibility for remaining within budgetary constraints as required by Management. Demonstrate ability to ensure that the Health Care facilities comply with the statutory requirements of both State and Commonwealth Health authorities and associated regulating bodies. Demonstrate ability to ensure that all nursing care staff, clients and visitors incidents are reported, actioned and forwarded administration and for clients incidents to be filled in clients file. As a senior manager on site, to inform other managers of incidents that have occurred regarding their staff. Attend Committee Meetings and present appropriate reports. Collation and review of Clinical Risk Management, Critical incidents, Adverse Event Analysis and Sentinel Event Analysis throughout the organisation. The development and review of the patient care process, inclusive of documentation of nursing care plans, nursing histories / assessments and clinical nursing audits. POSITION TITLE: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES PERFORMANCE INDICATORS DESCRIPTION P.I. 4 Technical Skills And Application Demonstrate ability to take on the overall responsibility and tasks of the Director of Nursing Korumburra Hospital. Responsible for the development and review of the total care process, nursing care plans, nursing assessments/histories and nursing audits. To verify time sheets as required. Responsible for developing and maintaining with the Education Team an in-service education program for the care staff. Demonstrate ability to provide a high standard of nursing care and well-being that provides for physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of the clients, in accordance with the GSHS philosophy and resources. Support clients in the maintenance of links with family, friends and community activities and interest groups outside the family. Ability to use administration protocols implemented by the Organisation. Carry out audits of Quality Systems & patient care trends to monitor adherence of and to maintain desired outcomes. Other duties as directed. Promotes reflective nursing practice within the team; Computer skills particularly in Word and Excel program, use of Outlook Express and internet health links. Monitoring and development of clinical nursing practices throughout the organisation incorporating Effective Discharge Procedures. POSITION TITLE: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES PERFORMANCE INDICATORS DESCRIPTION P.I. 5 Teamwork & Communication Ability to coordinate and chair the various meetings within the Acute and Aged Care facilities and ensuring that the minutes are circulated appropriately throughout the various Divisions. Liaise with other Divisions / Department Heads to enhance all aspects of care and quality systems making appropriate recommendations to the Director of Nursing Gippsland Southern Health Service /Executive/Equip Team Leaders Utilises appropriate communication and interpersonal skills to meet psychosocial needs of individuals/groups for whom you are responsible and with whom you interact in your role and manager Communicates effectively with colleagues, individuals and groups, using the appropriate formal or informal channels of communication. Responsible for: Duty Statement Grade 7 To be read in conjunction with Position Description Monitoring and development of clinical nursing practices throughout the organisation incorporating Effective Discharge Practices. Development and Review of Clinical Nursing Practice Guidelines throughout the organisation i.e Policies and Procedures. Collation and review of Clinical Risk Management, Critical incidents, Adverse Event Analysis and Sentinel Event Analysis throughout the organisation. The development and review of the patient care process, inclusive of documentation of nursing care plans, nursing histories / assessments and clinical nursing audits. Management of Education Unit and delegation of duties to staff within this unit. Ensuring appropriate Research and planning practices are encouraged to promote safe enhanced Nursing practices. To deputize for Director of Nursing Gippsland Southern Health Service required. as Other duties/portfolios as directed/negotiated with Director of Nursing Gippsland Southern Health Service. In conjunction with Director of Nursing: Coordination and overseeing of postgraduate, undergraduate and work experience programs and allocations thereof. Representation of Nursing Division on various committees as delegated by Director of Nursing Gippsland Southern Health Service. To work with the Quality Improvement Coordinator to ensure the meeting of required Accreditation standards and Improvement thereof where appropriate for the Nursing Division. Liaison with Assistant Director of Nursing with regard to Residential Care Practices Policy & Procedures. Work between both Korumburra and Leongatha Hospitals with the Director of Nursing Gippsland Southern Health Service providing day to day management of Nursing Division and related areas.
