They are familiar with operational and strategic aspects of business studies. In addition, they have essential knowledge and skills in the areas of economics, law, computer science, and engineering. They have acquired practical experience e.g. by means of the traineeship semester, business simulation and case studies and are able to work by integrating different areas of expertise. They are able to work in intercultural groups. Apart from their mother tongue, they are familiar with two languages. Essential elements of the study program include classical business management training with strategic and operational problem solving, as well as comprehensive training in related areas of knowledge. Special emphasis is put on global and intercultural training. As a compulsory component of the program, a one-semester work placement in the 5 th semester allows students to apply in industry what they have learned up to this stage. Also, the students character is formed as the half-a-year internship is spent abroad. They are further educated by intercultural studies courses, presentations, group work, and seminars in presentation techniques and ethics. As is the case with all Bachelor s programs at HsKA, the program has a strong labor market orientation. Graduates have a wide range of options, either working in professions related to the classical business management disciplines or in interface tasks as well as access to the areas of industry, trade, consulting, and financial services, either at home or abroad. Pre-study work experience: Specific admission requirements Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning Traineeship semester: Start of program: Application deadline: Language of instruction: Mode of study The applicant should: 8 weeks/38 attendance days spent at two (at least) of the following departments: accounting, controlling, personnel, sales, marketing, logistics, finance, procurement, IT. Students who have no pre-study work experience at the time of application must do an internship of 10 weeks/47 attendance days until the start of the third semester. The pre-study work experience can be waived if the applicant has vocational training in a related job. General or subject-specific university entrance qualification or comparable entrance qualification; eight-week pre-study work experience, motivation letter. For students from abroad: proof of satisfactory knowledge of German. Ranking is created using weighted grades for the university entrance qualification (factor 1) and individual subjects of mathematics (factor 4), German or corresponding language for a foreign entrance qualification (factor 4), English (factor 1). Bonus points are awarded for the school leaving qualification Zentralabitur (1 point), German and mathematics as school majors ( points each), for business studies as a school subject ( points), and for a vocational qualification in a commercial job ( points). Vocational training at Meister level or acquired at a school for further vocational training, together with an interview at HsKA, will be recognized as equivalent to university entrance qualification. -year vocational training followed by 3-year occupation in a related job, together with an interview at HsKA and an eligibility exam at Konstanz University of Applied Sciences, will be recognized as equivalent to university entrance qualification. Results achieved in theory or practical courses of an academic degree program at a recognized higher education institution can be transferred to HsKA according to ECTS recognition procedures upon express request, if the Board of Examiners acknowledges these results to be comparable in terms of level, subject content and extent. At advanced course level, 60 ECTS is the maximum number of credits that can be transferred. Prior learning must be in a similar or related subject. 5 th semester is internship, which must be carried out in a country with a different language than the student s mother tongue.
