The most imptant agreements in the Double Master Degree Programme f the study programmes Economics, Business Management, Management Science and Engineering, Accounting, and Professional MBA at the China University of Geosciences (Beijing) CUGB and International Business in Developing and Emerging Markets (IBDEM) at the Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg TU BAF The parties are interested to use this double degree program as a start f further intensification of common research effts that may include holding of international academic conferences on topics such as International Economics, International Resource & Environmental Economics, Management, and Law, and to exchange faculties as visiting scholars f research, so as to promote the academic communication to enhance the domestic and international status in related subjects. Article 1 Modes of Programme 1.1. CUGB and TU BAF agree to adopt 1+1+1 and 1+2 modes to ganize the joint education of CUGB postgraduate students in the Master programmes Economics, Business Management, Management Science and Engineering, Accounting, and Professional MBA at CUGB and the MBA programme International Business in Developing and Emerging Markets (IBDEM) at TU BAF. 1+1+1 mode means that CUGB students study at CUGB f the first year, go to TU BAF to study f their second year (1 st year of TU BAF MBA programme), and return to CUGB f study, internship and master thesis in their third year. 1+2 mode means that CUGB students study at TU BAF f the first year and return to CUGB f study and to finish the master thesis in the second and the third year. 1.2. In both modes, 1+1+1 and 1+2, students must earn at least 62 European Credit Transfer Points (ECTS) during the two semesters at TU BAF and an equivalent of 58 ECTS during the 4 semesters at CUGB. 1.3. Both institutions mutually accept the credits to be earned in the respective partner university as laid out in the rules and regulations of each university. Both parties make sure that students have a range of modules to choose from that enables them to get the credits in the defined limited period and that overlaps of knowledge taught are avoided. The respective lists of modules of CUGB and TU BAF together with the agreed credit (Chinese credit and ECTS separately provided) are included in the Appendix. 1

Article 2 Application and Admission Procedure 2.1. 4 th year Bachel students of CUGB who are confirmed by CUGB f admission to Master studies at CUGB and students already enrolled to a Master programme at CUGB are eligible to apply f the dual degree programme with TU BAF. 2.2. Applicants send their applications to the International Center of TU BAF through the International Office of CUGB until December 31. A complete application contains a completed application fm f double degree students and an up-to-date passpt photo, proof of enrolment at CUGB a letter of delegation by CUGB f the double degree programme a certified copy of the Bachel certificate and of the transcript of recds of the Bachel programme; the student should have achieved a result of at least 65% in the Bachel programme; a certified copy of the 1 st semester of the Master programme at CUGB if applicable certified translations of the Bachel certificate and the transcripts of recds into German English, a certified copy of the result of the entry-test and of selection f studies f the CUGB Master MBA programme; these documents replace the GRE GMAT which is usually required f the TU BAF MBA programme a certified proof of English language proficiency by means of a TOEFL certificate (min. 213 computer-based, 79/80 IBT, 550 paper-based), IELTS certificate (min. of band 6.0) a CET-6 certificate. 2.3. After examination of the documents TU BAF will send a list of the selected applicants to CUGB until 31 January. 2.4. Along with the requirements of the Akademische Prüfstelle (APS) co-operative program TU BAF representatives will interview all selected applicants in March early April at CUGB. The interview will be ganized by CUGB. If there are less than 5 selected applicants from CUGB, the co-operative scheme does not apply and the individual APS will be necessary. 2.5. After the interview the list of the selected students, the recds of the interview, a copy of this agreement, a copy of the receipt of the bank transaction of the APS fee f the whole group of students (see 4.3.) along with the documents of all students will be sent by CUGB to the APS in Beijing f verification. Each applicant has to provide the following documents: a completed APS application fm with an up-to-date passpt photo (the fms and further infmation are available at the APS website), a copy of the applicant s identity card and a copy of the passpt, if available, a copy of the primary school graduation certificate, a copy of the lower secondary school graduation certificate, an authenticated copy, along with an authenticated translation of the higher secondary school graduation certificate, an authenticated copy, along with an authenticated translation of the university entrance examination (gaokao), 2

an authenticated copy and an authenticated translation of the certificate of enrolment at CUGB, an authenticated copy and an authenticated translation of the Bachel certificate and the final grade if applicable, an authenticated copy, along with an authenticated translation of the study recd as well as a simple copy. All documents have to be submitted to the International Office of CUGB until April 30. 2.6. APS will infm TU BAF about the results of the verification. The applicants do not receive a certificate a written confirmation from APS because they have not been interviewed by the APS and have been selected f the particular program with TU BAF. Within the framewk of this APS co-operative scheme it is not possible f CUGB participants to change universities within Germany. 2.7. Upon receipt of the APS results TU BAF will issue the Letters of Admission. Applicants can then proceed with the visa application through APS individually. Article 3 Academic Regulations and Master Degree 3.1. After the students have successfully passed all required courses and exams at both universities they write their Master thesis at CUGB. The thesis has to be written in English in Chinese. In the latter case, a 10-page summary in English has to be submitted. The thesis will be defended at CUGB. A TU BAF representative may participate in the defence. 3.2. After the successful defence of the Master thesis and proof of the required 120 ECTS credits 32 Chinese credit students receive the Master certificates from CUGB and TU BAF in Chinese/German and in English an English translation. To obtain the TU BAF document students have to send a certified copy of the CUGB Master degree and the certified English translation to TU BAF. 3.3. Depending on the programme that the student is enrolled in, CUGB awards a Master of Economics, a Master of Management an MBA, TU BAF awards an MBA International Business in developing and Emerging Markets. 3.4. The TU BAF certificate and the English translation of the CUGB certificate contain the infmation that the degree was awarded within the frame of the double degree programme and that they are valid only together with the certificate of the respective partner university. Article 4 Service and Financial Responsibilities 4.1. Candidates who choose the APS cooperative scheme and were selected f the interview need to pay a total service fee of 1.000 EUR to TU BAF. A first amount of 500 EUR has to be paid to TU BAF until February 28. The bank account details will be sent with the invitation to the interview. The second half of the service fee has to be paid to TU BAF befe enrolment at TU BAF. Students who choose an individual APS are exempt from the service and the service fee. 4.2. The service fee covers the following services f CUGB students provided by TU BAF: 3

Suppt throughout the application procedure within the APS co-operative scheme. Communication and assistance with infmation befe arrival. Pick up from Dresden airpt (min. 3 students) Freiberg train station. Assistance to find accommodation in dmities the private housing sect. The rent will be paid by the student. Assistance with administrative procedures (e.g. bank account, enrolment, selection of health insurance), to get integrated into student life and to solve problems inside and outside the university with the help of student ments and the International Centre. Course How to study in Germany? Organization, Academic Writing and Presenting & Co. English Language course Academic Writing and Presenting in English 4.3. F participation in the APS co-operative scheme there is an APS fee of 1.000 RMB per student which must be paid to CUGB befe the submission of the application to the APS. This fee is not part of the service fee under 4.1. 4.4. Upon enrolment at TU BAF students are required to pay a semester fee, currently 75 EUR per semester. 4.5. Intensive German language courses language exams at TU BAF are open to CUGB students. Course exam fees have to be paid by the students and are not covered by the fees under 4.1.-4.4. 4.6. Living expenses in Freiberg are currently about 500 EUR/month (accommodation, food, insurance, semester fee, books, etc.). 4.7. If at least 5 students from CUGB apply f participation in the double degree programme with TU BAF within the APS co-operative scheme each year, a teacher from CUGB will be invited to TU BAF f a sht visit to facilitate the cooperation by meeting with the representatives of TU BAF involved in the program and solving the problems which arise from the program implementation. Expenses f airfare and accommodation will be paid by TU BAF. 4
