Gary Cash Memorial Scholarship use Local Scholarship Application Dollar Amount: Applicant must be a US citizen and prospective GHS graduate. The applicant must have a cumulative grade point average of no less than 2.75. Must have been active in one or more sports and lettered in at least two (2) years. The scholarship should be based on athletic endeavors, desire, determination, and good sportsmanship rather than emphasis
on athletic ability. Each applicant must type a double spaced 300-word essay on his or her athletic endeavors, desire, determination, and good sportsmanship. Keeler-Martin Wrestling Scholarship use Local Scholarship Application Dollar Amount: Must be a US citizen and participant in wrestling. Must have a minimum gpa of 2.0. Must attach a statement as complete as possible regarding financial need. Each applicant must attach a typed, double spaced, essay on their participation in wrestling including a list of all the semesters they were on the team and any awards received during that time. They must tell why they enjoy the sport, how the sport develops character, and if they wish to continue wrestling while in college. Foster Morgan and Elizabeth Kantola Scholarship use Local Scholarship Application Dollar Amount: Applicant must be a US citizen and have no less than a 3.5 cumulative grade point average. The applicant must have shown active involvement in community service and write a 300-word essay on the community service including whom, when and the reason why they were involved in this service. The Shearer Scholarship use Local Scholarship Application Dollar Amount: $5,000 last year, up to 4 year renewal Given to a student who is attending the UofI only. This is need-based, but the student must also be of good character, and have shown an interest in family, community, and national affairs.
