Engineered Soltions BIS - Overview and basic package V2.5 BIS - Overview and basic package V2.5 www.boschsecrity.com Complete enterprise management for efficient, integrated bilding and secrity management in a single soltion Consistent se of world-wide open IT standards for configring, interfacing and displaying makes BIS extremely ser and installer friendly Provides a seamless integration of Bosch or 3rd party systems throgh OPC compliance Provides alarm information easily linked to serdefined action plans and existing location maps Modlar strctre makes it easy to bild p a secrity soltion which meets yor reqirements exactly The state-of-the-art bilding management generation The Bilding Integration System (BIS) is a flexible bilding management system which can be configred to sit the ser's specific, individal needs. It contains a hge range of applications and featres which enable both the integration and copling as well as the monitoring and control of all major technical bilding systems. The new generation bilds on Bosch's many years of experience in management systems and was considerably inflenced by the following market trends: Increasing complexity of technical bilding eqipment The increasing complexity of technical eqipment inside bildings reqires a powerfl management system which combines the most varied fnctions (e.g. fire and intrsion alarm systems, access control, video systems and bilding atomation... etc.) in the best possible way. The open interface standard sed in BIS allows information from secrity as well as non-secrity devices that meet this standard to be inclded and processed in combination with other information. Using new technologies and standards While the strict reglations in the field of secrity technology ensre a very high degree of reliability in secrity matters, they hinder the integrated se of new technologies from the IT world. BIS has scceeded in harnessing the benefits of non- secritybased technologies (e.g. OPC interfaces, Internet technologies, etc.) and harmonizing them with the world of secrity technologies. Cstomers want complete soltions Facility managers and cstomers are increasingly demanding complete system soltions. Thanks to the high level of integration within the system, a comprehensive, easy-to-se range of project planning and technological systems and services can be offered. System overview The Bilding Integration System is essentially a prodct family made p of varios main modles (also called engines) which are based on a common software platform. These main modles are: Atomation Engine Access Engine
BIS - Overview and basic package V2.5 Video Engine Secrity Engine Throgh the direct import/se of existing CAD data (standard DWF vector format) containing the information for layers, named views or detector location yo are able to create a location tree by scanning the drawing. Yo work with one drawing for e.g. a complete floor. Sb-locations (rooms, areas) are defined by the named view featre. Zooming and panning allows easy navigation throgh the bilding s architectre. The BIS ser interface is web-server-based sing dynamic HTML pages with modern web and script technologies. Defalt pages for different screen resoltions for 4:3 and 16:9 formats are inclded in the installation. * not available in all contries The featres of these engines are described in greater detail in separate chapters. In principle, the engines can be combined together in an nlimited nmber of ways. This allows yo to assemble a management system which meets yor specific reqirements. Yo will need the BIS basic package on a one-off basis in order to license yor system. The basic package contains a dongle key. The featres can be activated sing an activation key file. A later re-fitting of single featres or an additional engine is easily done by replacing this file, which is delivered by e-mail. Fnctions System architectre Bilding Integration System consists of the BIS platform software and specific fnction modles, called engines. These modles, the Atomation Engine, Access Engine, Video Engine and Secrity Engine are described in separate chapters. They provide specific featres for fire, intrsion, access control, video and pblic address, pls the srveillance of HVAC or other vital systems. BIS is based on a performance-optimized three-tier architectre especially designed for se in Intranet and Internet environments. Sbsystems are connected via the world-wide open standard OPC which has been well established for over 15 years. BIS can operate on a standalone PC or in a client/ server strctre sing the standard LAN/WAN network infrastrctre. Organizational strctre and configration A nmber of atomatic fnctions and easy-to-se tools make the configration of BIS extremely installerfriendly and save mch time and money. BIS atomatically detects the monitor resoltion and provides the appropriate ser interface. The defalt pages can easily be cstomized sing a standard HTML editor. Existing configrations of OPC compliant sbsystems can be easily imported into BIS throgh this open interface standard. An OPC server (driver) can be installed on a PC anywhere in the entire network and BIS will connect to it. Operation BIS s main task is to operate as a central alarm and secrity management system for all the varios systems inside an enterprise. Therefore it provides a nmber of display featres inside it s ser interface. Permissions, placement and contents, can easily be cstomized. A clear and precise overview off every incoming alarm or event is presented to the operator.
BIS - Overview and basic package V2.5 Web-server-based platform allows connection of workstation via jst the Internet Explorer Direct spport of standard AtoCAD DWF vector format for the se as location maps minimizes configration. No splitting or conversion is necessary. Example for configring associations The heart of the system, the State Machine (Rle Engine), coordinates all incoming events or operator reqests and processes e.g. atomatic controls to nbrden operators. BIS workstations reqire only Windows and the Internet Explorer. No additional software is reqired. System secrity An AES-approved 128 bit encryption between BIS central server and workstations give additional secrity beside the detailed definable ser rights. If PCs inside a corporate network are to be sed, frther secrity restrictions can be imposed by assigning operators to dedicated workstations/ip-addresses. Basic package In addition to the basic license athorized by the dongle key, the Bilding Integration System basic package provides many common featres and provides optional accessories which can be sed in all specific stages of extension (engine strctre). Cstomizable device condition conters to provide overview of sbsystem/alarm conditions within the entire BIS system Message processing and alarm display sing different ser interfaces featres Alarm qee with p to 5000 simltaneos alarm events and detailed alarm information Assign AtoCAD DWF to location Changes to architectre within a graphic (new walls, moving a door, etc.) can be implemented on-the-fly. It is not necessary to change the BIS configration, simply import a new plot file from the architect. Workflow with message distribtion and detailed escalation scenarios Hge library of almost all standardized detector icons in standard vector format inclding color, event and control definitions Detector icons within a location map can be sed for direct detector control. Depending on the detector type BIS provides the assigned control commands by simply right-clicking on the icon The strctre of a site or an enterprise is visalized in a tree strctre (e.g. bilding floor room). This tree can be sed for graphical navigation. Alarm conditions in the locations are indicated by colored spheres. Location tree can be generated atomatically from the "named views" within the AtoCAD graphic Action management for atomatic and manal control into connected sbsystems and their peripherals Device overview for all connected sbsystems, and their peripherals (detectors) and internal virtal devices (operator, server,...) in the form of a tree strctre with detailed information abot address, stats, type, location and notes. Yo are able to control the peripherals directly by mose click. Alarm qee with three active alarm messages Fixed assignment of operators to workstations for higher secrity State machine for detailed definition of alarm processing in the means of atomatic display or control fnctions
BIS - Overview and basic package V2.5 Mlti-Client capability to define permissions that allow operators to access only to sbsystems or detectors they are athorized for. Display of miscellaneos dynamic HTML-based alarm docments. Create and provide specific information on any event/alarm to the operator, inclding text, bitmaps, video images, check boxes, action bttons etc. Example for a miscellaneos docment display in case of fire Reporting services to qickly generate analyses of past events in varying degrees of detail Open URL by simply mose click directly from location overview to show fotos, manals, instrctions Detailed permissions and ser rights for the access, display and control of sbsystems and their peripherals and all corresponding information is definable Event log to ensre all events are completely docmented (inclding messages and controls) for the entire system Linking and embedding of OPC servers from any compter in the network Online Help One operator license inclded One OPC server license inclded Typical action plans for a fire or intrsion alarm gide the operator throgh the alarm sitation Alarm-dependent action plans or workflows provide detailed event-dependent information sch as standard operating procedres, live images, control bttons, etc. to the operator. Simply create and assign one action plan to each possible alarm type in yor system, e.g. fire alarm, access denied, technical alarms, etc. With the deletion of an alarm message an nmodifiable snapshot of the displayed action plan is attached to the event log. This ensres accontability by providing a trace of all steps performed by the operator dring the alarm response. BIS optional accessories The optional featres listed below can be added to the BIS system to meet specific cstomer reqirements. They are sable with all the BIS Engines (Atomation, Access, Video and Secrity Engine). Alarm docment package This package extends the standard alarm handling of yor BIS system with the capability of displaying action plans and location maps as well as the graphical navigation and the alarm-dependent visalization of layers inside those maps. This ensres optimal gidance to operators especially in stess sitations, sch as fire or intrsion alarms. Location map example with active alarm and animated detector icon Location maps are a perfect visalization of a premises based on the poplar AtoCAD vectorgraphics format and displaying e.g. floors, areas or rooms. Detectors are displayed by icons. Each icon provides the detectors-specific commands and allows direct control of the detector, sch as open/close
BIS - Overview and basic package V2.5 door, switch on/off light, etc. In case of an alarm the corresponding icon is animated with the defined event color. BIS atomatically zooms in to the assigned alarm location. A location tree, which can be created atomatically, and the zoom/pan fnction allow a seamless graphical navigation within the premises strctre. An alarm-dependent layer control allows the display of additional graphical information in specific sitations, e.g. escape rotes in case of fire alarms, etc. layers can also be switched on or off manally. Alarm management package This package extends the standard alarm operating of yor BIS system with some additional intelligent alarm management featres. Message distribtion allows the definition of escalation scenarios which are activated atomatically when an operator or operator grop doesn t acknowledge an alarm message within a defined period. BIS will then forward the message atomatically to the next athorized operator grop. The timer featre allows the setp of time schedles which can be sed to perform atomatic control commands, sch as closing a barrier at 8:00 pm, as well as for time-dependent display of alarm messages, e.g. within time period 1 show message to operator grop 1 else to operator grop 2. Operator alarm, triggered by right mose click on location The operator alarm featre allows the manal generation of alarms on a location inside the location tree, for example, an operator is getting a phone call which is informing him abot a dangeros sitation. Sch manal alarms are processed in the same way as those coming from a real detector, meaning assigned docments are shown and all steps are recorded in the event log. The application lancher allows to start exectables (.EXE applications) atomatically at a defined time sing predefined parameters. A typical application of this wold be an atomatic and reglar system backp. Additional Division The division featre allows yo to divide large sites/ bildings between atonomos parties, giving each division its individal views (ser interface, event log), system access and control possibilities. Yo may increase the nmber of divisions in steps of one. Members/devices in the common division are seen by everybody. Divisions are visible only to their designated operator grops. Additional Operator license The nmber of operator licenses determines how many operators can work simltaneosly in the system. For example, if three operators (secrity gard, technician, receptionists) are to work simltaneosly in the system, yo will need three licenses. The BIS basic package already incldes one license. Additional OPC server license Activation or license that is reqired in order to operate an additional OPC server (OPC driver) of any type at all on the BIS. The BIS basic package already contains one OPC server license. This can be sed e.g. to connect an OPC server for a fire panel. A separate license is needed for each additional sbsystem/opc server to be connected, with the exception of Access Engine and Bosch VMS.
