WELCOME ievo would like to thank you for purchasing our product. ievo advise the use of a. Ensure you have calculated the correct power supply amp rating if you are connecting the ievo board and other controllers/locking mechanisms to the same supply, The ievo unit must be used with an EN 60950-1 or an equivalent IEC standard complaint PSU. This is to establish adequate safety testing of the PSU to ensure that there is sufficient isolation provided from the mains. ievo is designed to shut down as a protection precaution is detected. ievo will reboot straight away after shutdown. The use of a correct power supply will prevent this from taking place. Warning: When installing the IEvo control box, follow ESD Safety Procedures. Ground yourself to prevent any damage to the electronic components. Ensure you have selected the correct reader for internal or external use. The external reader is supplied with a built in thermostat controlled heating system. An internal reader, placed externally will not perform to it s required capabilities. If you are fitting a flush mounted reader ensure you have the correct cut out template and have the correct mounting and fixing plates provided in the box. ievo also recommend that you install the ievo reader at the DDA height of between 1.00m and 1.20m. This will be the perfect height for finger placement. If you remove the Ferrites to shorten cable length of the reader please replace Ferrites back onto the cable. Ensure you use at all times.. NOTE: If you are using the door controller to control ievo LED s, we recommend using 6core shielded beldon cable for Wiegand. Ensure that the control box is installed on the protected side of the door/turnstile.please do not exceed 5 in cable length from the reader to the control box. You are provided with. Ensure are used if cable is extended. The control box is not IP rated, it can be installed inside the power supply unit. There is a green heartbeat LED to show power to the box. The ievo reader button is illuminated blue to show power to the reader. Only use for network communication. Each ievo reader needs its own network cable, as each reader has its own IP address. Ensure this has been taken into consideration before commencing with installation. ievo also recommend using a. Setup Once you have reached this window you will notice that there is one reader in the list as default, if this is the first reader to be setup on the system you can use this reader by highlighting the reader and clicking setup. (img 3) If you have just added an extra reader or have more then one reader on the system, please highlight the reader you want to edit then click Setup to edit that reader. img 3 If you are adding a new reader please make sure the fields match this image, only once connected and in the settings option can you change reader details such as the IP address. If this is an existing reader and you know the IP address is different, simply update the fields. If there is already an ievo reader sitting on the network with the default IP address ievo recommend changing that readers IP address to something different, this is because when you connect a new reader and try to connect to it you may be connecting to the reader originally on the network. KEY Logs: Ping IP: Connect: Restart: Settings: Enrol Count(after click connect): See event logs from ievo reader. Ping IP Address to test it is up. Setup ADDING A READER This is only needed if you require adding another reader to the system, if not please skip and see next page. If there is already a reader on the system sitting on the default IP address of 192.168.1.225 then ievo recommend changing that readers IP address to something different before adding another reader. Please see page 7 settings section to do this. NOTE: Engineers only, Please make note of any changes on the test sheet supplied (A) (B) (C)
READER SETTINGS Setup NOTE: Engineers only, Please make note of any changes on the test sheet supplied This is only needed if changes to the reader are required, for example if you have more then one reader and need to set the IP address of a reader to be different from the others. if not please skip to next page. The ievo reader needs to be on the same subnet and IP range as the PC running the ievo software, unless it is configured by the network router. So remember if you change the IP address of the reader/s now you may need to change the computer to match the IP range you are changing the reader/s to, once finished setting up the readers. To change any settings of the ievo reader please click in the field and change to what you require. Once you have done this click save the settings. to A B KEY A C Device ID can be between 1 16. (Each reader needs to have the same ID) IP address of ievo board. Subnet of Network ievo board is connected to. Default network gateway. Port to use to communicate to ievo board. Finger Placement FINGERPRINT REGISTRATION: The reader acquires the fingerprint image Each fingerprint contains unique reference points known as Minutiae These are located where a ridge ends, at a dot or a ridge junction (a bifurcation) A reader can identify and acquire up to 100 points. These reference points along with their relative positioning create a pattern which is as unique as the fingerprint image itself
Finger Placement The pattern is then converted into a binary code via an algorithm The binary code is encrypted and transferred onto the ievo board Note: It is impossible to re-create the original fingerprint image from this code or its pattern The reader acquires a poor fingerprint image This can be due to a number of reasons Incorrect finger placement (refer to end user guide) Damaged collagen ridges under the skin Damaged capillaries under the skin Not enough ridge ends, dots or a ridge junctions (a bifurcation) = =
Finger Placement = Tip of finger scanned: not enough points for recognition = Incorrect finger placement on the glass registration plate Incomplete finger scanned: Not enough points for recognition
Finger Placement = Try to ensure centre of fingerprint is in the middle of the glass registration plate Complete finger scanned: enough points for recognition = Try to ensure centre of fingerprint is in the middle of the image Complete finger scanned: enough points for recognition
Finger Placement = Complete finger scanned: enough points for recognition Multi-Spectral Imaging (MSI) quality of fingerprint image Other Biometric Readers Image I Evo Reader Image The image that is captured is encrypted and stored, it can not be reproduced from the database in which it is stored, therefore: ievo does not contravene data protection or human right laws ievo is not the same method the Police use when taking fingerprints NOTE: If you are registered on ievo but the ievo reader illuminates RED this could be down to finger placement, please follow the steps above to ensure you get a good fingerprint image. ievo has 0.1% FRR (false rejection rate) this means the mathematical algorithm can occasionally deny you even though you are on the system. If this does happen please place your finger on the sensor again.
