STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF WHARTON BE IT REMEMBERED that a Regular Court Session was held on Monday, at 9:30 A.M. in the Commissioners Courtroom of the Wharton County Courthouse Annex Building with the following in attendance: Phillip Spenrath, County Judge Leroy Dettling, Commissioner Pct. 1 D.C. Chris King, Commissioner Pct.2 Steven Goetsch, Commissioner Pct.3 James Kainer, Commissioner Pct.4 The meeting was called to order at 9:30 A.M., County Judge Phillip Spenrath led in the Pledge of Allegiance, Leroy Dettling gave the invocation, and the following business was transacted, to-wit: Agenda items are in the order they were taken in the meeting. Public comments County Judge Spenrath stated the current KBDI is at 275. County Judge Spenrath stated the current jail count is at 129. County Judge Spenrath stated the Lakes are at 50 acre feet raised from 33% to 35% full. County Judge Spenrath stated County Treasurer Donna Thornton received 16 hours of educational instruction and 5 hours of required educational training during the 66 th Annual County Treasurers Association of Texas Conference. County Judge Spenrath stated the Wharton County Library has been accredited and will be a fully qualified member of the Texas Library System for State Fiscal Year 2015. County Judge Spenrath congratulated the Wharton Tigers on their win over the El Campo Ricebirds. East Bernard Brahmas are doing well and the Louise Hornets are 4-0. The Boling Bulldogs hit a bump in the road. Carol Wootton presented Proclamation to retiring Veteran Service Officer Dwight Winkler on behalf of Congressman Blake Farenthold. County Judge Spenrath read Proclamation #14-19-Rebecca Crabb-Twenty-five Years of Service. Motion by Leroy Dettling, second by Chris King to approve Proclamation #14-19- honoring Rebecca Crabb on her Twenty-five years of service. Page 1 of 7

Special Warranty Deed on CR 120 Motion by County Judge Spenrath, second by Leroy Dettling to approve Special by LCRA to Warranty Deed on County Road 120 being conveyed by LCRA for 5.908 acres to Wharton Co. Wharton County from Abstract No. 11 and Abstract No. 71 and authorize County Judge Spenrath to accept deed. 8. Action regarding Commissioner King and Commissioner Goetsch addressed this issue. Mr. Winkler will Veteran Service stay on through December 31, 2014 as Veteran Service Officer. Will have a group of Officer position Veteran s to serve on recommendation committee. Mr. Winkler will help write the job description. Randy Ratcliff addressed the court. He feels we need to have the younger Veterans that served in Iraq and Afghanistan to serve on the recommendation committee. Leonard Strnadel addressed the court. Commissioner King stated all Commissioners need to bring back their recommendations for Veteran Service Officer committee to the next court. Will post Veteran Service Officer position on October 1, 2014. Position will be posted for 30 days. No action taken. 9. Action to trade-in County Judge Spenrath addressed this issue. handguns and purchase new Commissioner King questioned will they be traded in to Carroll s Gun Shop. handguns from Sheriff Forfeiture Chief Bill Copeland with the Sheriff s Department addressed the court. They will Fund purchase the new handguns from Carroll s Gun Shop and selling the current ones to Mr. Money Pawn who is a Licensed Federal Firearm Dealer to recoup the funds. Motion by Leroy Dettling, second by Steven Goetsch to approve trade-in of Glock handguns at approximately $6,000.00 and purchase of new guns with funds from Sheriff s Forfeiture Fund. 10. Action to cancel County Judge Spenrath addressed this issue. Interlocal Agreement for Geriatric Motion by James Kainer, second by Leroy Dettling to approve and authorize County Psychiatric Attorney to send letter canceling Interlocal Agreement for Geriatric Psychiatric Service Services between between Matagorda County and Wharton County.
