Public comments County Judge Spenrath stated the current KBDI is at 275. County Judge Spenrath stated the current jail count is at 129. County Judge Spenrath stated the Lakes are at 50 acre feet raised from 33% to 35% full. County Judge Spenrath stated County Treasurer Donna Thornton received 16 hours of educational instruction and 5 hours of required educational training during the 66 th Annual County Treasurers Association of Texas Conference. County Judge Spenrath stated the Wharton County Library has been accredited and will be a fully qualified member of the Texas Library System for State Fiscal Year 2015. County Judge Spenrath congratulated the Wharton Tigers on their win over the El Campo Ricebirds. East Bernard Brahmas are doing well and the Louise Hornets are 4-0. The Boling Bulldogs hit a bump in the road. Carol Wootton presented Proclamation to retiring Veteran Service Officer Dwight Winkler on behalf of Congressman Blake Farenthold. He feels we need to have the younger Veterans that served in Iraq and Afghanistan to serve on the recommendation committee. Leonard Strnadel addressed the court. Commissioner King stated all Commissioners need to bring back their recommendations for Veteran Service Officer committee to the next court. Will post Veteran Service Officer position on October 1, 2014. Position will be posted for 30 days. No action taken. 9.
