Vorläufiges English Programme im akademischen Jahr 2015/2016 Preliminary English Programme in the Academic Year 2015/2016 *for English see below* Im akademischen Jahr 2015/2016 freuen wir uns Ihnen erneut ein Programm mit englischsprachigen Kursen anbieten zu können. Die weiter unten beschriebenen Kurse sind ein Angebot für Austauschstudierende, die sich ihrer Deutschkenntnisse nicht sicher sind oder die deutsche Sprache noch nicht beherrschen. Neben den Kursen aus den wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Bachelor-Studiengängen haben die Austauschstudierenden die Möglichkeit ihre Deutschkenntnisse mit Hilfe folgender Kurse zu verbessern: Deutsch als Fremdsprache 1, 2 oder 3 sowie Wirtschaftsdeutsch. Es ist auch möglich Kurse aus den englischsprachigen und deutschsprachigen Angeboten zu kombinieren, da die deutschsprachigen Kurse offen für Austauschstudierende sind! Die Austauschstudierenden werden im Studiengang Bachelor International Business Administration (BIBA) eingeschrieben, aber sie dürfen auch Kurse aus den anderen Studiengängen besuchen. In the academic year 2015/2016 we are glad to offer once again a programme with courses taught in English. The courses detailed below are a proposal for students who do not feel safe in the German language or even for those who are not speaking German. Alongside courses of Business Administration the students have the opportunity to improve their German language skills by joining "German as a Foreign Language 1, 2 or 3" and "Business German. It is also possible to combine courses from the English and the German programme, which is of course available for everyone! The Incoming students will be enrolled in the bachelor course International Business Administration (BIBA), but they are allowed to attend courses in the other study programmes, too. Crisis Management in International Mergers and Acquisitions HMAME 5.0 4 The need to keep up with a changing environment often dominates the thinking about mergers and acquisitions. The early 1990s saw a wave of mergers in the automobile, brewery, pharmaceuticals, telecommunication, grocery retail sectors and many other industries in Europe and other parts of the world. Problems were encountered and will be accounted in the process of mergers and acquisitions for a number of reasons. This course combines analytic and process views to gauge the complexity of such strategic moves, gives the students an overview of the critical aspects that have an impact on M&As, encourages them to learn from past experience and provides them with a platform for finding solutions for crisis management in this field. Besides providing a theoretical framework, the course entails practical and professional skills which are targeted at students to equip them with analytical and transferable social skills in order to enable them to function effectively at the workplace. Particular emphasis shall be laid on the acquisition of communication skills, facilitation and presentation techniques pertaining to delivering persuasive presentations and team working skills. Training shall also be conducted in order to enhance management competence, especially those personality characteristics such as social competence, organisational competence, emotional intelligence and rhetorical skills which are significant for conducting daily management tasks. International Human Resource Management HIHRE 5.0 4 This course focuses on the management of human resources on a global basis. The approach to international Human Resource Management often reflects an organization s international corporate strategy. International human resource managers participate in the international strategic planning process, but usually in a limited way. However, HR managers can and should provide essential advice and input at every step of the traditional strategic management process. An organisation s overall corporate strategy usually determines the approach to managing and staffing subsidiaries: recruitment and selection, training and development, performance evaluation, compensation and benefits, and labour relations are some of the areas that are encompassed within the topic concerned. Finally, because international managers have the ultimate responsibility for managing their human resources, complex issues involved shall be elaborated on and discussed. German as a Foreign Language 1 SPDE1 5.0 4 German for foreign students with basic knowledge. This course appeals to those international students who have little or no knowledge of the German language. The course is conducted with 4 LPW (60 lesson hours per semester) as Level 1 of the United European Frame of Reference for languages. The course offers the students the possibility to acquire basic knowledge of the German language to be able to communicate in everyday situations. The skills of auditory and reading comprehension along with written and speaking skills will be trained in the duration of this course. In the foreground of this course stands communication that is used in everyday life.
