BRIEF HISTORY OF KENYATTA UNIVERSITY The main campus is situated about 16 kilometers from Nairobi on the Nairobi-Thika highway on 1,198 acres of land Started in 1965 as Kenyatta College when the British Govt handed over the Templer Barracks to the Kenya Govt Became a constituent College of the University of Nairobi in 1970 Became a full-fledged University in August 1985 3
