Level 7 Diploma in Business Management and Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Business IT Overview of Progression Routes June 2015

NCC Education Level 7 Diploma holders have routes into Master s qualifications studying in the UK or by distance learning. We have recognitions in place for entry with credit onto a Master s qualification at the following universities: The University of Northampton University of Worcester University of Gloucester London Metropolitan University Level 7 Diploma in Business Progression Options Master s in Business Administration The University of Northampton Master s in Business Administration (top-up) (distance learning) Course Overview This distance learning programme is designed as a top-up to the MBA for holders of the NCC Education Level 7 Diploma in Business Management. The online learning environment supports distance learning of the two modules Critical Issues in Business (10 credits) and the Business Research Project (50 credits). Entry requirements for this course are successful completion of the NCC Education L7DBM, two years relevant work experience and IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. Course start dates are September and February. Deadlines for applications are mid-august (for September) and mid-december (for February). Please note the February intake does not fall in line with NCC Education s December results. Fees for this course are set by and payable to the University of Northampton. Fees for academic year 2015/2016 are 2900. There are no examinations on the top-up. Students complete 2 modules: Critical Issues in Business (10 credits) assessed by assignment Business Project (50 credits) assessed by dissertation/thesis Applications Centres submit student applications to NCC Education s Operations Executive. Applications should include: Application Form Evidence of Work Experience

NCC Education check all applications and submit through to the University. The University will review and check that the work experience is adequate. The student will then be contacted by email by the University to arrange payment and receive log in details to the University Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Once the University has received the application and accepted the student, they will provide an acceptance letter via email. Instalment options are available for payment of fees. Details will be emailed to the student from the University directly.if the student meets the entry requirements and pays the fees then entry will be guaranteed. Role of the centre Once the student has enrolled with the University there is no role for the Centre. Students become University of Northampton students and as such the University holds responsibility for them. Centres can use the black logo only for promotional purposes, so long as it is specifically used in relation to the MBA top-up for NCC Education L7DBM students. It cannot, for example, be used to portray any affiliation with the University. All promotional materials need to be checked by NCC Education and the University before publication. Additional Information Students will receive access to the University s online library as part of the course. Students will be welcome to attend the graduation ceremony. The University of Worcester Master s in Business Administr MSc Management (top-up) (distance learning with on campus element) Course Overview This course is delivered in a 2 week intensive study block on campus at the University of Worcester during which students will study a Research Methods module (20 credits). Students will then complete the Dissertation module (40 credits) through distance learning. Entry requirements for both courses are completion of the NCC Education L7DBM and IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. Students who wish to apply for the MBA will also require 2 years relevant work experience. The University of Worcester have one standard entry for the top-up in January every year. Please note this intake does not fall in line with NCC Education December results. Fees for these courses are set by and payable to the University of Worcester. Fees for academic year 2015/2016 are yet to be confirmed. Fees for academic year 2014/2015 for EU students were 1590. Fees for academic year 2014/2015 for International students were 3720. There are no examinations on the top-up. Students complete 2 modules: Applications Students must complete an online application form and submit online through the International Office at the University of Worcester. The University will then send an acceptance letter and guide the student through online registration and payment. NCC Education does not process applications, but students wishing to apply for this programme may contact customer services with any queries about the application process. Once the University has received the application and accepted the student, they will provide an acceptance letter. If the student meets the entry requirements and pays the fees then entry will be guaranteed. Role of the Centre Once the student has enrolled with the University there is no role for the Centre. Students become University of Worcester students and as such the University holds responsibility for them. All advertising has to be approved by the University of Worcester. The logo can usually be used as long as it is in direct reference to progression from the NCC Education L7DBM. Research Methods (20 credits) assessed by assignment Dissertation (40 credits) assessed by dissertation/thesis

Additional Information Students will receive access to the University s online library as part of the course. Students will need to travel to the UK to complete the two week study block Research Methods module. The University will issue a letter for a Student Visitor Visa, this is outside Tier 4 criteria and very simple to obtain. Unfortunately the University is unable to provide accommodation for students during the two week study block. There are several hotels in the Worcester area, close to the city campus, which offer competitive rates during the month of January. Students will be welcome to attend the graduation ceremony. Details of when and where this will take place will be sent to students by email. The University of Gloucestershire Master s in Business Administration (top-up) (distance learning with on campus element) Course Overview Role of the Centre This course begins with a short period of intensive tuition spent at the University of Gloucestershire Park Campus. Students will attend two workshops focusing on research methods before embarking on a period of sustained supervised research leading to submission of their dissertation. This will require students to commit to frequent, scheduled supervisory progression meetings with their allocated tutor. Entry requirements for this course are completion of the NCC Education L7DBM with a minimum of 65% and IELTS 6.5 (or equivalent) with 6.0 in the writing element. Course start dates are January and June each year. Please note January intake does not fall in line with NCC Education s December results. There are no examinations on the top-up. Students complete a 3 day research methods study in the UK followed by: Dissertation (60 credits) assessed by dissertation/thesis Applications Students must complete an online application form through the University of Gloucestershire website. The University will then send an acceptance letter and guide the student through online registration and payment. NCC Education does not process applications, but students wishing to apply for this programme may contact customer services with any queries about the application process. Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Business Information Technology Progression Options London Metropolitan University MSc Information Technology (top-up) (distance learning) Course Overview This course aims to develop a good understanding and knowledge of current and emerging IT and computer technologies. Students complete two modules and a research project through distance learning to top-up from the NCC Education Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Business IT (L7SBIT) to an MSc Information Technology. Entry requirements for this course are completion of the NCC Education L7SBIT and IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5.5 in each component. Students are also expected to hold one of the following: UK University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related subject Other non-uk Bachelor s degree with overall pass in Information Technology, Computer Science or related subject For students without a degree evidence of 5 years work experience in an IT environment, with significant technical or managerial responsibility (CV and personal statement/reference) Course start dates are in January and September. Fees for this course are set by and payable to London Metropolitan University. Fees for Academic year 2015/16 are 2900. There are no examinations on the top-up. Students complete 3 modules: Mobile application design and development (20 credits) assessed by coursework Database Systems with Professional Certification (20 credits) assessed by coursework MSc Project (60 credits) assessed by thesis/ dissertation and Viva Non IT related degree with evidence of 3 years work experience (CV and personal statement/reference)

University of Gloucestershire MSc Computing (IT Management) (top-up) (distance learning) Course Overview This course examines business systems, applications and the management thereof. Students will complete a dissertation supported by an experienced academic advisor throughout their studies. Entry requirements for this course are completion of the L7DSBIT and IELTS 6.5 (or equivalent) overall with a minimum score of 6.0 in the writing component. Students are also expected to submit a 500 word research proposal on a topic related to IT Management. Course start dates are January and September each year. Please note there will be limited numbers for each intake so students are advised to apply as early as possible. There are no examinations on the top-up. Students complete the following module: Dissertation (60 credits) assessed by dissertation/ project (16,000 words) Fees for this course are set by and payable to the University of Gloucestershire. Fees for Academic Year 2015/16 are 3800. Applications Students must complete an online application form through the University of Gloucestershire website.
