6 LAW PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS TEST GDL LPC BPTC IELTS Overall score of 6.5 or above, with a minimum of 6.0 in each area IELTS Overall score of 6.5 or above, with a minimum of 6.0 in each area IELTS Overall 7.5 with 7.5 in each element Other Successful completion of BPP English Language, Study and Communication Skills at an IELTS equivalent to 6.5 with 6.0 in each element. This applies even if the degree was undertaken online.* * Subsequent to being admitted to the BPTC, should BPP University consider that a student's language ability is unsatisfactory or there is question as to whether any aspect of it is at the required level, it will require the student to take IELTs at any stage in the course (at the student s cost) and achieve the required score. This right is unrestricted regardless of the students first language and even if the student passed the Skype Interview. Should the student then fail to achieve a required minimum score in one of the tests specified above, BPP University may require the student to: a. withdraw from the programme; or b. intermit and improve their score prior to being re-admitted in a subsequent year. This will be dependent on how much of the programme has been undertaken. In all cases the student is wholly liable for any costs incurred. (A) Admissions Officers may deem the English Language requirement to have been met for the Online GDL Course if they hold an honours degree that was delivered and summatively assessed in English. If their performance on the test is poor (despite having already met the English Language requirements as laid out above), the students will be required to attend English Language support classes alongside the main course to ensure they have enough support while adapting to the new environment and to the learning. 2. BPP might consider the following tests to meet the English Language requirements for English language, Foundation, ACCA as well undergraduate and postgraduate programmes (not professional law programmes): GCSE English language (or equivalent as per UK Naric), Cambridge First Certificate, Cambridge Advanced Certificate, Cambridge IGCSE (English as a first or second language) and Cambridge Proficiency Certificate.
