3 Programme Structure On successful completion of these three phases, participants will receive the award of Doctor of Health (DHealth). The programme is designed to be flexible and it is possible for those who wish to finish their studies at the end of Phase One (and have passed all of the necessary assessment) to be transferred onto the Postgraduate Certificate in Research Methods in Health Practice or the MSc in Research in Health Practice. 4 Teaching Typically, Phases one and two will be delivered by a combination of approaches including: Study guides, online discussion boards supporting group and individual learning and online tutor support through the virtual learning environment Compilation of portfolios bringing together research and practice based study Assignment preparation (with tutor support) Research conferences, normally as face-to-face workshops at the University of Bath held twice a year Learning needs analysis and personal development planning Support Personal Development Adviser (PDA) responsible for providing individual support for the personal development planning and learning needs assessment components of the programme Peers through interaction with online activities and face to face events Unit Convenors responsible for the cohesion, relevance and quality of individual units Academic Tutors Supervisory Panel responsible for supporting participants as they develop their individual research projects University library online University Student Support Services The research and thesis phase of the programme will be supervised by a panel of specialists comprising a University academic member of staff (to ensure that the work is of a sufficient standard to attain the award of DHealth) and a practice-based specialist (to ensure that the work is at the forefront of practice).
