ACTIVATING PAYMENT EXPRESS It is a good idea to let DPS know your Terminal ID number and the name of your receipt printer (this can be found by going to printers and faxes in the Windows control panel) at least 24 hours before you plan on installing your PINpad. Please give us a call or send us an email with this information and we can ensure your details are configured and ready before you begin. Open a web browser and navigate to www.paymentexpress.com On the bottom of the home page you should see the following: Select the model PINpad that you have and click on the link to download the installer Please ensure you read the End User License Agreement (EULA) carefully. Once you have scrolled all the way to the bottom, the option to accept the DPS license terms will be presented. NB: These need to be accepted. If you have any questions, please contact: sales@paymentexpress.com When the installer asks you to plug in your PINpad, please connect the PINpad to the PC via the USB or Serial cable provided. Click OK when you have done this. Payment Express should now be installed and ready to process EFTPOS transactions. To verify all is setup up correctly, please open the DPS EFTPOS client by double clicking on the DPS red circle in the system tray (bottom right hand corner) Click on the button labelled Maintenance and then click on the button labelled Logon. If a receipt is printed out of your printer saying Approved, then your EFTPOS is installed and ready to be integrated with your POS application. If you get a receipt print out saying Transmission Error, you need to load the Keyset (this is linked to your merchant number and makes sure that it is you that gets paid). Please see the notes below on how to load a Keyset. Please follow your POS supplier s instructions to integrate the POS application with Payment Express. P a g e 4

HOW TO LOAD A KEYSET Please note that IPP320/IPP350 will not need to have keysets manually loaded. They possess a feature known as Remote Key Injection (RKI) which means that the PINpad will load its own keysets automatically prior to logging on. You will need two things to load a keyset: Terminal ID this is your Merchant ID number plus the number of the terminal. The Merchant ID number is provided by your bank and will typically be in the format 10 XXXXXX. With this format, you will need to drop the leading 10, and use the remaining 6 digits appended with your terminal number (01, 02, 03 etc. depending on how many terminals you have). Keyset & Check Digit this can typically be found on a sticker located on the back of your PINpad. It looks like 1)1558203 / 7369. The first part is the keyset and the second part is the check digit. If you have a sticker on the back of your PINpad, then please phone the number listed on that sticker to have your Terminal activated. You will be prompted for your Terminal ID followed by your Keyset details. If you do not have a sticker or are having trouble with the step above, then please give DPS a call and one of our Support Analysts will be able to assist you with the activation of your PINpad. PAYLINE This is a major part of the solution and it is important that Merchants especially finance and technical support teams use this facility (or at least understand its benefits to better assist the business). DPS will have provided a username and password to a management contact upon activation of the Payment Express account. If this has not been received, please contact DPS support at your convenience. To access Payline, please go to www.paymentexpress.com and click the Client Login link which is located towards the top right hand side of the screen. Once logged in, you will be able to manage all of your transactions, view EFTPOS PINpad status history and create reconciliation reports. For additional information on Payline, a more in-depth guide can be found at: www.paymentexpress.com/downloads/pmguideeftpos.pdf P a g e 5

SAMPLE REPORT: P a g e 7

ELECTRONIC OFFLINE VOUCHER (EOV) EOV is a very important feature to have enabled. It allows Merchants to process transactions if the internet connection is not working, the acquirer is offline or any other part of the transactional processing chain is not functioning correctly. Please ask your bank to enable the Merchant Number and all required Terminal ID s for EOV. Please also ensure an end to end test for EOV is run (i.e. a live bank card should be used to test the PINpad under EOV mode to see that an Approved response is received and the bank account should be checked to confirm that funds hit the correct account after settlement). If the test fails, please report this to us. An Electronic Offline Voucher (EOV) is a fully electronic version of the zip zap machine. The Merchant no longer requires the machine to perform transactions when the Banking system is unavailable. In EOV mode, the EFTPOS payment proceeds as per normal with the Customer card swiped through the EFTPOS PIN pad, each transaction is simply verified and stored by the EFTPOS application and standard EFTPOS style receipt is printed for signature verification. Stored offline transactions are uploaded and processed automatically as the internet connection becomes available. Before processing any transactions in EOV mode, please check that: The card plastic looks valid and is from a card issuer that is recognised as being accepted. For example, if you normally accept Visa card transactions and a Visa card is presented by the customer, then it is okay to process Ensure that the expiration date shown on the card is valid Check the customer s signature against the signature on the back of the card Check with your store management as to the store policy for EOV approvals. An EOV guide can be found within the EFTPOS User Guide found at: http://www.paymentexpress.com/getattachment/knowledge_base/brochures/eftposclientguide_3.pdf.aspx/ P a g e 8

REMOTE ASSISTANCE To provide technical assistance which requires remote access to your computer, we would require you to temporarily run a third-party tool TeamViewer on your computer. To allow TeamViewer to work on your computer, you will need to be able to access our website www.paymentexpress.com where you will be able to download and run the TeamViewer client program (located at the bottom of the page). You may also have to contact your IT administrator and make sure you have this access and possibility further requirements depending on your setup (in some cases you may be required to open port 5938 on your firewall/gateway. OTHER PAYMENT EXPRESS SOLUTIONS In addition to the standard EFTPOS products that are listed in this document, DPS can also assist your business with a number of other payment solutions including Ecommerce and other EFTPOS such as UPT (Unattended Payment Terminal).
