The options will depend on how the chip card was issued by the financial institution. The transaction processing will continue as usual. In this example the transaction will be processed as debit. Enter the sale amount without taxes and press State Tax If no state tax applies, press number zero (0) key and ENTER. -2-

Enter the municipality tax amount and press Tip Amount If no tip amount applies, press Enter the tip amount, if it applies. Verify the total sale amount and press ENTER (YES) key. The customer will enter the password in the terminal or external PIN pad and press Total $0.00 Correct? Yes or No Total $0.00 Enter PIN Processing Now Approval 000000 If the processing option selected was debit, the customer will enter the PIN number on the terminal or external PIN pad and will press ENTER. Note: If the terminal is not accessible for the customer to enter the PIN number; the transaction must be cancelled and the merchant must request another method of payment. Examples of this type of scenario: The terminal is located in a gas station booth and the customer does not have access to it to enter the PIN number. The terminal is located under a counter and the customer cannot access that area to enter the PIN number. Any other place where the customer cannot access the terminal to enter the PIN number. In this example the transaction will be processed as debit. If selected credit as processing option, the terminal will request the entry of the last four (4) last digits of the card. merchant s receipt. -3-

Swipe the card through the magnetic stripe reader. ################### The terminal will show the card number used to process the transaction. The transaction processing will continue as usual. In this example the transaction will be processed as credit (Master Card). Press Enter Last 4 No of Customer Card Enter the last four (4) digits of the customer card and press Base Amount -5-

RESPONSE EMV Fallback: Remove Card and Swipe TERMINAL MESSAGES ACTION The chip card presents some condition. In this case, use the fallback procedure: swipe the card through the magnetic stripe reader of the terminal. -7-
