1 User Guide: Apple devices
Your details You may need these details from time to time. So it can be handy to have them here. But if you do record them, make sure you keep this guide somewhere safe. Your merchant account Your Merchant ID (MID) We put this in our welcome . Your Terminal ID (TID) We put this in our welcome . Serial number This is on the back of the keypad. 2 WorldPayZinc User Guide: Apple devices
Contents Introducing WorldPay Zinc The basics Your Chip & PIN keypad and the app Pair the keypad to your Apple device Downloading and configuring the app Taking payments with the app Taking payments over the phone My Account Appendix WorldPayZinc User Guide: Apple devices
Easy, secure payments start here Welcome to WorldPay Zinc. We re putting easy, secure card payments in the hands of small businesses like yours. This guide will get you up and running. All you need is: A WorldPay Zinc merchant account. We give you this when you sign up. One of our Chip & PIN keypads. The WorldPay Zinc app, available from the App Store. There s more detail on all of these in this guide. It couldn t be simpler WorldPay Zinc uses a Chip & PIN keypad, linked by Bluetooth to an app on your Apple device. Together, they re all you need to take credit and debit card payments on the spot, just about anywhere* All you have to do is: Enter the payment amount on the WorldPay app. 3. The keypad sends us the details using the app on your Apple device. We get authorisation from the bank, and send it back through the app. Give the keypad to the cardholder. They put their card in the slot, confirm the amount, and enter their PIN. The whole process takes around 30 seconds. Then you issue the cardholder a receipt. It s just like paying for something in a shop. And you don t have to worry about issuing bills or chasing payments. It s all done. * Subject to mobile network coverage. 4 WorldPayZinc User Guide: Apple devices
1. The basics You need four things to make the service work: A merchant account This special account accepts the payments you take through WorldPay Zinc. Then it transfers the money automatically to your bank account. (You gave us your bank account details when you applied.) Merchant ID (MID) This is your unique WorldPay Zinc ID number. We ed it to you when you signed up. You will need to quote your MID when you call to speak to us. Terminal ID (TID) This is your unique reference number for your Chip & PIN keypad. We ed it to you when you signed up. You will need to enter this number when you are setting up the WorldPay Zinc app. Chip & PIN keypad Our keypads are simple, ergonomic and highly secure. They re the only ones approved to be used with the WorldPay Zinc service. Cardholders will only use the technology if they trust it completely. So look after yours and keep it safe. Each keypad is built with tamper-proof, tamper-evident technology. If anyone tries to open or dismantle it (or breaks it by accident), it stops working completely. 5 WorldPayZinc User Guide: Apple devices
2. Your Chip & PIN keypad and the app WorldPay Zinc combines a Chip & PIN keypad with an app on your Apple device. They re linked by a secure Bluetooth connection. Introducing the keypad Card swipe slot for non-chip (magnetic stripe) cards Screen Power switch Charging socket Cancel key Enter key Clear key Chip card slot 6 WorldPayZinc User Guide: Apple devices
3. Pair the keypad to your Apple device First things first Make sure you have: Your Chip & PIN keypad, fully charged. A compatible Apple device which includes; ipod touch (4th and 5th generation) iphone 5 iphone 4S iphone 4 iphone 3GS ipad The address and password you put in your application. Your Terminal ID (TID) which can be found in our welcome . 1 On the Chip & PIN keypad, check that the Bluetooth symbol is flashing at the top left of the screen. If it s not, press the Enter key for five seconds. The symbol will start flashing. 2 On your Apple device, tap the Settings icon. (a) Then choose Bluetooth. (b) Make sure Bluetooth is switched to ON. Your Apple device will automatically search for nearby Bluetooth devices. You ll see a WorldPay Zinc device listed as Not Paired. Tap this option. (c) (a) (b) (c) 7 WorldPayZinc User Guide: Apple devices
3 Your Chip & PIN keypad screen should be showing a passkey number. This is a randomly generated six-digit number. (a) Your Apple device will show a Bluetooth Pairing Request. Check that the passkey matches the one on your keypad. (b) (a) If the passkeys match, tap Pair on your Apple device and Enter on your keypad. You have about 20 seconds to do this or the process times out. If that happens, you ll see a Pairing Unsuccessful message on your Apple device. Just tap OK, select the WorldPay Zinc device again and repeat steps 2 and 3. (b) 4 The keypad screen will show Passkey confirmed and the Bluetooth symbol will stop flashing. The WorldPay Zinc device will now show as Connected on your Apple device. Problems? If you have trouble with the pairing process, try resetting the keypad and your Apple device To do this, go to the Bluetooth menu on your Apple device. Find the WorldPay Zinc device in the list, and tap the little arrow next to Connected. Then tap Forget this device. On your Chip & PIN keypad, hold down the Enter key for five seconds to reset. Then start again from step 2. 8 WorldPayZinc User Guide: Apple devices
4. Downloading and configuring the app The Chip & PIN keypad uses the WorldPay Zinc app on your Apple device to communicate with us. It s free to download. Download the app Search WorldPay Zinc in the App Store on your Apple device. Download the WorldPay Zinc app Once the app is installed, tap the icon to open it. Tap I m ready to start the set up process. Enter your address and password which you used to register for WorldPay Zinc and tap Log in Our Setup Wizard will guide you through the set up process, simply enter your Terminal ID which can be found in your welcome from us. 10 5. Taking payments with the app Card Payments 1 Switch on the Chip & PIN keypad. The Bluetooth symbol should be steady. If it s flashing, you need to pair the keypad with your Apple device again. (Go back to section 3.) 2 Open the WorldPay Zinc app on your phone and login using your address and password. 3 Simply enter the amount for the payment, if you make a mistake use the delete key and re enter the amount. 4 Next, you can add a Payment Reference so you can identify this sale later within your payment information. (b) 5 When prompted ask the customer to insert their card into the keypad and confirm the amount by pressing the Enter button. 6 Ask the customer to enter their PIN and press Enter. You can accept these with WorldPay Zinc, but the process is slightly different. The cardholder verifies the payment with a signature rather than a PIN. 1. Start the process as you would with a normal Chip & PIN card. 2. Instead of inserting the card into the bottom of the keypad, swipe it along the slot at the top. Make sure the magnetic stripe is facing away from you. You can swipe in either direction. 3. Once the card has been read, the customer will be asked to confirm the amount. The cardholder needs to check the amount, then press Enter to confirm. Take the keypad back and wait for the payment to go through. 4. Ask the cardholder to sign in the signature box which will appear on your Apple device. Check that it matches the signature on the back of their card. 5. The app will ask you to confirm you ve verified the signature. Press Enter on your keypad to confirm. 6. The app will go online to authorise the payment. Once we ve approved the payment, you can issue a receipt as normal (see page 11). 7. Finally, tap the Done at the bottom to go back to the home page. 12 WorldPayZinc User Guide: Apple devices
Refunding a payment You can refund any card payment through the WorldPay Zinc App 1. On the home screen of the app tap Payment History & Refunds. 2. Then tap Perform Refund and search for the payment you need to refund. 3. You will then have the option to refund the entire payment amount or complete a partial refund of the payment amount. Select the option you need and tap Refund. 4. The app will ask you to confirm you want to refund the payment. Tap Confirm. Once the refund is approved, tap OK. 5.
